Best Western Premier Parkhotel Kronsberg Hanover

Due to a career event of my wife, we had to travel to the trade fair area of Hanover in early April 2019. We went for a stay close to the trade fair area. The Best Western Premier Kronsberg in Hanover is right adjacent to the former Expo World Fair area, including the international trade fair and the multi-purpose TUI Arena. Here is a review of our stay.

BW Premier Kronsberg – Location

The hotel is just across Messeschnellweg, the primary road access to Hanover Trade Fair to the fairgrounds. It is very conveniently located as it more or less has an own motorway exist – you can access it on the Northbound route by exiting at the gas station in front of the hotel.

If you are at the hotel outside trade fairs, the area might be below average. The key additional attraction around is the multiplex TUI Arena. Apart from the hotel restaurants and the ones of the Radisson Blu hotel right next to it, there is only the University canteen, which serves food at lunchtime. The gas station also has a small supermarket-alike assortment of food and some snacks like sausage or sandwiches. If you pass TUI Arena and Expo Plaza, you reach the terminal stop of the tram, which brings you to city center every ten minutes. The ride time is roughly half an hour.

BW Premier Kronsberg – The Room

The hotel has two buildings. The annex is some 50 meters across the parking lot. All meeting rooms, restaurants and other amenities are in the main building. We had a main building room, prepaid for 129 EUR. The room was very spacious, quite traditional design, but modern elements, definitely not run down. The room also featured a nice work desk. The mini bar and safe was nicely hidden in a drawer.

The bathroom was very spacious, with separate shower and bathtub. The toliet was separate and featured an own sink. Amenities were provided. There was also a small wardrobe room, which lead to a quite perfect layout of the room.

BW Premier Kronsberg – Breakfast & Food

The breakfast area, which is served in the main restaurant, feels a bit small regarding the size of the hotel. However, its capacity was absolutely fine on the Saturday morning we stayed in the Best Western Premier. The selection of food on the breakfast side was nice, but I especially loved starting the day in there due to the great quality of the food provided. Egg dishes were done fresh on demand – the omelette was great. There was also a nice selection of cereals and bread and tasty homemade jams.

There is a total of three restaurants and bars onsite. Apart from the restaurant, which also serves the breakfast, there is the Witwe Bolte beer house and a bar, which also has quite a nice cocktail menu. I went for the room service this time and had a Club Sandwich with sweet potato fries as well as a desert of creme brulee, lemon sorbet and fruit. Including room service charge, the meal was 25 Euro and absolutely tasty.

BW Premier Kronsberg – Services

The staff and service at the Best Western Premier Parkhotel Kronsberg was just a great example of excellence. Our stay started with a friendly welcome at the reception. Any staff you met in the aisles of the hotel was friendly and greeted you. Housekeeping did a great job, the breakfast staff was good. Even when there were a bit demanding requests, the staff did a great job. For example, when I visted the spa area, I was surprised that you are thought to grab your towel at the reception. However, a sign said you may alternatively call reception for delivery. You heard that the reception lady struggled (I guess because she was alone at the reception) – but three minutes later, I got my towel delivered.

Spa area and fitness are in one complex. The spa, pool and relaxing area is lovely. I stayed there for over an hour at the afternoon, being the only guest during that time. The pool area is very nice and even features a waterfall shower. There are sufficient places to lay down and relax, the spacious area even features to water beds to slow down. Gym addicts may regard the fitness area to be comparably compact, though – I am not too much into it, butI definitely saw better ones the last weeks. Finally, WiFi in the hotel has an absolutely sufficient quality. There is also a sauna, which is charged with 5 Euro per person per day. Business corner? Smokers’ Room? Both available as well!

BW Premier Kronsberg – My View

The bad message first: if there is a trade fair around, you likely need to be very early and in a good management position to be allowed to stay at this place. Hotel capacities in Hanover are easy in normal times, but terrible at trade fairs – and even worse for good accomodation around the fairgrounds. Best Western Premier Parkhotel Kronsberg is definitely an excellent stay. There is no doubt to assign it the Top Pick! status. I cannot find any bad point about my stay. If I would need a hotel around the area, I would likely again opt for this place.
