Alexandra Kay (12th May 2025, Cologne)

On 12th May 2025, it was time to cover another Sound of Nashville show. Alexandra Kay headed to Cologne’s Club Bahnhof Ehrenfeld to have a concert of her All I’ve Ever Known Tour 2025. She was supported by Austrian artist Elto.

This posting comes with 222 major size pictures as part of the concert gallery.

Club Bahnhof Ehrenfeld – About The Venue

Next to the Yuca Club, the Club Bahnhof Ehrenfeld (“Club Station Ehrenfeld”) is one of two clubs, which is located right underneath the elevated rail tracks of Köln-Ehrenfeld (Cologne-Ehrenfeld) rail station. The last show is saw there was interestingly another show with Alexandra Kay, which she held there in March 2024. I also visited the club in 2019 for Jillian Jacqueline and Lauren Jenkins. The club has excellent connections, not only by local and regional trains, but also by numerous tram / underground connections. However, parking around the venue, which holds up to 500 people, is sometimes a bit of tricky. There is a rather expensive parking garage next to a hospital you can use, though.

Alexandra Kay – About The Artists

Alexandra Kay is a female country music artist, who was born on 5th September 1991 in Chesterfield, Missouri, and grew up in Waterloo, Illinois. Both places are suburbs of St. Louis. Her first steps into the music industry have been rather diverse, from musical productions to hip hop tracks. Her first single, No More (2013) already gained quite some attention. About the same time, she started her country music career with cover videos on social media. It took her until 2023 to release the debut album All I’ve ever known.

Elto is an Austrian artist, who has has Egyptian ancestry. He was originally member of the band Solarjet, before becoming a solo artist. His music is influenced by multiple genres. He had a couple of releases in the 2010’s already. Since later 2022, there are regular single releases by him.

Alexandra Kay – The Show

Elto stepped on stage right on time at 19:30. His set lasted 36 minutes approximately, starting with his 2023 song In Control. Already in the first songs, including his 2016 debut single Summer Night, he caught the people and made them sing as his background choir or simply clap to the rhythm of his song. Thereby, he told a lot about the stories behind the songs. For example, he shared how he wrote Break It Off with the producer of German artist Joris and later also toured with him. He named the song thereafter, Dreamer, being one of my favorite songs. He concentrated on his English releases. His set featuring music somewhere between pop and rock closed with Here and Now.

Songs of Choice during Alexandra Kay’s Set

The band of Alexandra Kay was very quickly on stage for the soundcheck. Kay had made a free Meet & Greet before the Cologne show for the early German audience- and she stayed very close to the audience during her 75 minute show. She started her set with Cupid’s A Cowgirl and Backroad Therapy. Multiple times, she stated that she was amazed that there were about twice the people in the venue compared to her 2024 show. Early in the concert, she promised coming back to Cologne by a We will always support you as you support us. And Cologne loved her. The audience clapped from the very beginning at Skip This Part and could fill the gaps whenever Kay pointed the microphone towards them. One of the highlights of the show was Best Worst Ex, which Kay originally recorded with Julia Cole.

Thereafter, Kay did something remarkable. Stating that she never properly brought the All I’ve Ever Known album to Europe, the crowd could choose their own favorites. Easy was unarguably the Rheinland favorite, followed by I Kinda Don’t (which is in fact a 2020 single release). Thereafter, Kay praised women with covers like Shania Twain’s Man! I Feel Like A Woman! as part of a medley. During Hallelujah, Kay started to sign fan shirts bought by the fans while performing the song. The encore included Painted Him Perfect and Everleave, before there was a quite long line at the merch stand – with many fans who wanted to give Alexandra Kay a well-deserved hug.

Alexandra Kay – My View

I did not know too much about Elto before. The Austrian living in Berlin did a really nice warm-up to the Cologne crowd. However, I feel that Alexandra Kay does not even need that kind of mental preparation. Cologne loved her – and she felt to love Cologne. Being so close to the people, definitely enjoying playing in the rather small venue with many people cheering for her and singing with her lead to a great country pop evening. Overall, Kay did a really great job here and definitely won quite a bunch of hearts on this German tour leg. If she doubles the sales again next time, it’s like a good choice to book a larger venue. Thank you for coming over!
