Due to travel-related logistic issues, I decided to be a bit quicker this time and present my Songs of the Week on Friday already. I absolutely love this episode of my presentation of new songs. It includes many different genres and artists from twelve different countries. Music is global and diverse, and there is music one might love out there for anybody. Hope you find some gems for your playlist as well.
Johnny Logan feat. Lordi – Hard Rock Hallelujah
I am typically very shy in featuring covers in my Songs of the Week at all. But it is Eurovision Song Contest week (you might check out how wrong I was with my rating of songs…) and there has been an incredible collaboration this week. My favorite Finnish monsters Lordi and three time ESC winner Johnny Logan cover the the biggest song of the other artist. Thus, Logan goes for his Hard Rock Hallelujah – and does a version which is just amazing. Yeah, this one is a Song of my Life – and the Irish artist does it in a very new, amazing way. Love it so much!
Jakup Lind Dam – Lillian
I somehow stay in the Nordic countries and head to the Faroe Islands. Jakup Lind Dam sings about a deep friendship. A beautiful pop song with a singer-songwriter signature.
Dotan – Let You Go
The Dutch indie-folk artist looks back to two sold out world tours, in 2025 and 2026. With Let You Go, Dotan announced his fifth studio album. the song definitely feels promising again.
Dead Star Talk – No More Losing
Dead Star Talk is a German–Danish rock band. They are working towards the publication of their third studio album Now Then Always Forever. The Copenhagen based band comes with a great sound – definitely worth listening to this songs (and to others, of course, as well).
Voltwechsel – Nie mehr halbe Wege
With Voltwechsel’s Nie mehr halbe Wege, the rock level is definitely heating up. The Austrian band has been founded in 2021. The band around singer Laura Trolp has released two studio albums already and played some major festivals. Great sound from Graz in Styria – I really like it!
John Diva & the Rockets of Love – Bigger Than America
John Diva & the Rockets of Love – I still love looking back to their amazing performance at the Seepark Bilder Days 2023. I also featured two albums of the US American glam metal band from San Diego, The Big Easy (2023) and American Amadeus (2021). Now, they feel I’m bigger than America – and it is so much fun to listen to these guys. On 16th October 2026, there will be a new album, Your Favorite Drug.
Lordi & Motherbeast Noora Louhimo feat. Johnny Logan – Hold Me Now
I simply had to share both of them – and you guess it already. Vice versa to my Song of the Week, Lordi is going for a cover of Johnny Logan’s Hold Me Now. He is joined by Motherbeast Noora Luohimo, who recently announced her departure from Battle Beast. Johnny Logan never rocked that hard in his life – this Finnish collaboration is simply a cool one.
Henry Moodie – Miss U
Henry Moodie is a British singer-songwriter. His debut album Mood Swings peaked 31st in the domestic charts. He is also having international success. For example, his 2022 single You Were There for Me also made it into the Swiss charts. He is currently working on his second studio album.
Kylie Clark – We Don’t Have Limits
Kylie Clark is an Australian pop artist. With We Don’t Have Limits, she shared a great radio pop song this week. Down Under made me smile this week, indeed.
Eli Melinda – Dir zu begegnen
At the ESC week, there simply has to be some schlager as well. However, Eli Melinda’s new song Dir zu begegnen has some quite strong pop vibes as well. The German artist from Offenbach near Frankfurt has a truly international background: she was born in Romania, studied in London. I absolutely loved listening to this happy vibe track.
Chloe Qisha – Surprise Surprise
Chloe Quisha is an artist from Malaysia. She names Surprise Surprise a Sad Girl anthem. A lovely listen with pop and folk vibes.
Claes Hässlemark – Dawn
I rarely go for classical music in my Songs of the Week, but this piano track simply caught me. Dawn is the new song by Swedish pianist Claes Hässlemark. With the song, he is also teasing his upcoming album Hollow. The release date will be in fall. In these stressful and hectic times, I felt that Dawn is an amazing listen to cool down and reflect.
