Flyctory.com Pros
- Nice service
- Good location
- Very nice breakfast
- Nice, modern spa / gym
Flyctory.com Cons
- Room is outdated and too small
During a recent business trip, I was happy to be able to visit my Bratislava team after two years of Covid-19 restrictions. For the stay, I opted for the Falkensteiner Hotel Bratislava, which is located right in the city center. Here is my review.

Falkensteiner Hotel Bratislava- Location
The address of the hotel is at the Pilarikova road, which is parallel to the Staromestska, one of the key roads in the city of Bratislava. There is a pedestrian tunnel in front of the hotel, which leads you right inside the old town of the Slovakian capital. The famous castle is in short distance. Bratislava does have an airport, but you typically connect to Vienna Airport (VIE) and connect by a bus or shuttle service. There are other hotels, restaurants and other touristic services around.
The Zochova bus station is located right in front of the hotel and gives connections to multiple public transport services. The hotel runs a parking garage in case you arrive by car.
Falkensteiner Hotel Bratislava – Room
I booked a superior room, including breakfast for one night (Tuesday to Wednesday) in April 2022. The flexible rate was 94.50 EUR. I feel that the pictures are already giving quite a good message: The room was fine, but it neither felt superior nor really four star-alike. The feature I liked most was very clearly the work desk area. I also liked the area behind the bed, which allows you to store – and charge – some things while you are sleeping. The room itself comes with a rather unremarkable design – the amount of space in it was also fine for a business trip. I would definitely not opt for this hotel and room if you are on a longer travel with more luggage.

The shower bathroom was functional and clean and thus fitted well into the overall impression: the Falkensteiner is not a bad stay at all, but it is not made to create emotions or memories. Some amenities were provided, I also liked that there was sufficient space for your toiletries.

Falkensteiner Hotel Bratislava – Breakfast
The Falkensteiner serves breakfast in their nice restaurant on ground level. The selection of items is really nice. In addition, there is a live cooking egg station. It did not run too effectively when I arrived at the buffet, but worked better. There were also some less breakfast options like fresh made waffles. I especially liked their bread and cold cut selection.

The hotel also features a really nice bar in the lobby, which has been very popular among guests during my stay.

Falkensteiner Hotel Bratislava – Service
On the 6th (top) floor, the Falkensteiner runs a really nice spa and gym area. Especially the view from the gym room on Bratislava Castle is really amazing. There are also sauna and steam bath facilities.

Opposite to the gym, there is also a lounge, which was closed during my stay. The service, e.g. at the reception was really friendly and the level of English spoken at the reception was very good. The WiFi could have worked out better, but it definitely suited my needs.

Falkensteiner Hotel Bratislava – My View
I’ve been to the Falkensteiner Bratislava a couple of times. I have to say that the hptels feels like having been hit hard by Covid-19. There was a need for renovation and modernization – but how can you generate the necessary cash if there are few guests for almost two years. The lovely spa and gym area shows that they can do modern hospitality. Let’s hope they can get back on track completely – currently, I would rather opt for different places in the Slovak capital, even though this one is not bad at all.
I visited the hotel as part of a business trip for the company I work for. Thus, I did not have any travel expenses. This did not influence my review.
