Also due to the high hotel prices over New Year’s Eve, my wife and I did some hotel-hopping in Las Vegas in late December 2024. After we had a night at the Best Western Plus Casino Royale and before we checked in at the Desert Rose Resort, we had two nights at a Hilton brand. The Hilton Grand Vacation on the Las Vegas Strip offered good prices for two nights. Furthermore, I was curious about the concept, which is (as far as I know) not too frequently used in Europe. Here is my review.

Hilton Grand Vacations Club Las Vegas Strip – Location

The hotel is located rather on the Northern and of the Las Vegas Strip. Two of the neighboring casino hotels are Las Vegas classics, the Circus Circus and the Sahara. The new Resort World including the Conrad Las Vegas is not too far away. On the North of Sahara Avenue, there is the The STRAT Hotel & Casino with the Stratosphere Tower. As there are some gaps in the buildings, you can even see the Sphere from parts of the hotel grounds.

Las Vegas is a car destination. Even though the Strip connection bus DEUCE is stopping in front of the hotel (at the NB Las Vegas at Hilton Grand Vac stop), you will likely opt for the hotel if you have a vehicle with you. Self-parking in the garage is nominally 20 USD, but is included in the resort fee. Valet parking is available for 30 USD / night. The lower decks of the garage are reserved for that purpose – and are typically empty due to that reason. There is also a small free parking lot, which is much more convenient, especially if you arrive or depart and have luggage. The walk from the garage to the back door of the hotel is decent.

Hilton Grand Vacations Club Las Vegas Strip – Room

My wife and I booked a One Bedroom King Suite, which was part of a suite deal and was 403.63 USD for two nights, including taxes and the 25 USD per day resort charge. Despite a one night cancellation period, you had to prepay the first night at booking, which was Wednesday to Friday in late December 2023. The room was absolutely amazing. It felt very spacious. The open kitchen came with all necessary amenities. There was even a large oven and a typical North American fridge in it. Thus, it is a great place for self-catering. The sofa to hang out (apart from the four people dining table) was also very cozy. There were absolutely no issues to store our luggage in the room.

Compared to that, the sleeping room might have even felt a bit of narrow-ish. However, it got it’s job absolutely done and felt very comfortable. The bathroom of the room was en suite. It felt very spacious, almost luxurious, with separate shower and bathtub. Standard amenities were available by dispensers. Due to the high floor we were staying in, the view of that part of Las Vegas was amazing. The maintenance and cleaning of the room was very good as well, no needs to complain here.

Hilton Grand Vacations Club Las Vegas Strip – Food

The concept of the Hilton Grand Vacations Club is rather a self-catering place with hotel-alike services. Thus, the hotel does not offer any full breakfast. You also do not get any food credit as a Hilton Honors status member. The resort fee grants you two bottles per water and day. The basement area of the hotel offers a limited grocery store-alike area, which also has some coffee options. At this place, you could also have a bagel or something similar to kick off the day. In summer months, there is also a grill service at the pool bar. You of course can have breakfast at one of the adjacent places or in the nearby casino hotels.

Hilton Grand Vacations Club Las Vegas Strip – Service

The check-in process was bothering. There was a bit of a line at the check-in desk, which was absolutely fine – even though I already felt stressed due to the walk from the garage to the reception (which also required an elevator ride). However, right after check-in we were practically forced to have a chat about a “special offer presentation”. In fact, this is nothing but a time-sharing offer, which is definitely not really attractive to foreigners (and for most domestic visitors, too). It took a while to decline and we got a standard coupon book from the time sharing concierge. Attending the presentation would have lead to Hilton Honors credits (at least that’s what they guaranteed us). The times were not suitable for our packed schedule in Nevada, though.

The Hilton Grand Vacations Club on the Las Vegas Strip offers very nice sports facilities. The gym is very nice. We unfortunately could not make use of the large outdoor pool, which felt very tempting.

Hilton Grand Vacations Club Las Vegas Strip – My View

In general, I loved the concept of the Hilton Grand Vacations Club Las Vegas Strip. The room was large and offered far more you typically get in North American suite hotels. However, some proper breakfast and dining options would have been nice. You can also say that we have been poorly prepared about that fact, though. What I absolutely did not like is that they tried to force us to some marketing presentation, right after we arrived at the hotel. That felt a bit too aggressive to me, at least with my European mindset.
