Songs Of The Week (week of 24 Dec 2021)

The week of Christmas is typically one of the weeks of the year with the lowest amount of new music releases. Thus, it is quite a challenge to find some good new tracks, which have been released this week. Nonetheless, I found some really good songs with a nice variety, I feel. Hope you enjoy my second edition of my Songs Of The Week. Merry Christmas to all of you who are celebrating it.

Snow White In The Dark – Without Me

German-Russian rock and metal with a lot of potential. My favorite song this week is definitely the very emotional, wonderfully performed Without Me by Snow In The Dark. Really a good one – hard to believe that it is just the fourth single release by the artist.

More Than Words – If You Can Dream It

On Christmas, the German country family trio More Than Words is releasing a new track. Very good recording again by Stefanie Hertel and her beloved ones.

††† (Crosses) – Goodbye Horses

Quite cool electro-rock from Los Angeles. Another Christmas Eve release is Goodbye Horses by Crosses. Maybe not the right one for sharing presents underneath the Christmas tree – but a good one for the rock party thereafter.

Elisabeth Brück – 3 Worte

Elisabeth Brück is a German actress and musician. This Monday, she released the the beautiful song 3 Worte (“Three Words”), which she recorded together with her husband. A really nice song.

Bentai and the Remedy – Part Time Superhero

I ran into a lot of German artists this week. Bentai and the Remedy are from Kürten, East of Cologne. An interesting mix of punk, rock and even some psychedelic elements. Who does not want to be a Part Time Superhero?

Rivethead – Dancing Queen

Even though their Voyage has been released rather late in the year, ABBA lead the German annual album chart 2021 and thus beat great albums like Wenn die Kälte kommt by Santiano. Time to do ABBA a bit of a different way. Nice release by Rivethead.

Aedr1n – Money Bags

I am not at all into rap and hip hop. Thus, you will not find the genre too often in this category. However, I just liked the groove of this rising German artist. Just 94 seconds long – very special track, indeed.

Klaus von Radspitz – Geliebte Welt

From the very first moment I listened to this song, I enjoyed it. Great deep German songwriting.

Dorn feat. Gioia – One by One

I did not know the German songwriter and producer Benedikt Dorn so far. DORN, how he is naming himself as a solo artist, released a beautiful duet with Gioia today. Great listen.
