by After the dramatic girls singles final, the second match I present you from the Tennis Europe Super Category tournament in Düren is in fact the last match I saw. After Korean Dongjae Kim had won an epic boys singles final already, he had a some one hour break before stepping on court again for the boys doubles tournament decider. Partnering Thailand’s Dharma Pantaratorn, he faced the top-seeds, Slovakian Richard Krizan and German Johann Nagel-Heyer.

Int. German U14 Tennis Nationals – Boys Doubles Final – Match Notes
The Asian boys doubles team had a perfect start. They were already 4-0 in the lead, before Krizan and Nagel-Heyer broke the serve of the opponents and gained some hopes to come back. However, their opponents played just more constantly, finally even managing to have another break in the eighth point, which finally made Kim and Pantaratorn win the first set by 6-2.
The second set was a much closer battle. Kim and Pantaratorn also lost a bit of precision, while the top seeds managed to put more and more pressure on their opponents. Both had struggle at own serve here and there, but the score stayed close, with a 4-4 intermediate score and the Thai-Korean pairing to serve. That was maybe the most fortunate time (or unfortunate, depending on your perspective) for the break, which finally happened. Thus, the match was forced into the match tie-break. In that, the crowd at the TG Rot-Weiss Düren saw a close battle, but Krizan and Nagel-Heyer finally made it, with a 12-10 victory after a rather attractive doubles tennis match.
