Flyctory.com Songs Of The Week (week of 19th June 2026)

After I had to cut down my festival season and outdoor sports coverage, I am spending a relaxing weekend in Berlin this time There won’t be too much Flyctory.com contents from that visit, I rather need to regain some energy in the German capital. The Songs of the Week this time are comparably short, but features some good songs and interesting stories. Hope you enjoy them.

Kai Hansen – Feeding The Beast

This week, my new song radar is lead by a metal track. Kai Hansen, majorly known as member of Helloween, Gamma Ray and Iron Savior, is going solo this this. With Feeding The Beast, the Hamburg artist illustrates that he is one of the finest of the genre. Enjoy rocking!

Kärbholz – Kryptonit

The second song is by a German act as well. Kärbholz is a band from Ruppichteroth in the Rheinland region. They do a mixture of punk rock and indie rock. So far, five of their albums made it to the German Top 10. After their song Gar Nichts was part of my 10th March 2023 edition, it is their second appearance in my Songs of the Week. Great one!

Talco – Discorotto Talent Show

The Italians Talco likely made me smile the most this fine. Discorotto Talent Show is the second B-side song of their upcoming album. The band from Maghera, a mainland borough of Venice, mixes ska with punk elements. The sound is simply energizing. Love it!

Frank Storm – Herz in Seenot

“Heart in Maritime Salvage” is roughly the translation of this song. After he lead my Songs of the Week in the 28th November 2025 post with Land in Sicht, it is the second time I list this artist in my release radar. If you prefer the song in English, there will also be Heart in Distress soon. A cool mixture of schlager, rock and maritime music.

Wolfgang Petry – Sommer in der Stadt (50 Years Anniversary Edition)

You can hardly argue against that this one is the German song release of the week. One of the major legends of German schlager, Wolfgang Petry, drove a social media campaign towards this Friday. He was huge, especially in the 1990’s and early 2000’s. However, the Cologne-born artist played his last major show in 1999. Thus, many fans hoped for a comeback. Thus, many fans were a bit of disappointed that there will “just” be a new album, celebrating the 50th stage anniversary of the artist. Ein Leben lang will be released in September, when Petry will also celebrate his 75th birthday. Sommer in der Stadt, a remake of his very first single released in 1976, is the first teaser.

Soffie – Crop Top Boy

Soffie is a German pop artist. With Für immer Frühling, she had a golden record in Germany in 2024. In my 17th October 2025 Songs of the Week, she had her first Flyctory.com appearance with Dass ich gerade traurig bin. Now she is making me smile with her song about the Crop Top Boy.

Eels – Cap In Hand

The US American alternative rock band Eels is just about to release their 16th studio album. On 16th October, the Los Angeles quartet around Mark Oliver Everett will share Cookie. Happened The cool and laid back Cap In Hand is a really nice teaser of it.  Eels are especially popular in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, where the predecessor album Eels Time! (2024) made it to the Top 25 in the respective domestic album charts.

Benjamin Rajani – I 20’unum

Last, but definitely not least, there is the new single by Benjamin Rajani. I absolutely love the music of the Faroese artist. The song will be part of his new album Onkustaðni er ein viðarlund.
