I am quite busy with music this weekend, covering three concerts between Thursday and Monday. Thus, I had to shift my Songs of the Week already to Friday evening. This time, there is quite a lot of pop music in it.

 

My Song of the Week:

Jonas Ledang – The Great American Love Story

My song of the Week is coming from Norway this time. Jonas Ledang’s new single is a beautiful roots rock song with a nicely flowing melody. The story is quite dramatic: it tells a story of a criminal who is sentenced to death and tries to win the love of a lady from the prison.

 

Other Great Songs this Week:

Takida – In Your Bed

The Swedish alternative rock / post grunge band Takida adds one of the most rocking tracks to my this week’s post. However, In Your Bed also has a nice emotional coomponent. The song is first song release of the upcoming album Numbers, which will be available in January 2027.

Julia Meladin – Rausch

When I recently added Julia Meladin’s Rosarote Mauer Tour 2026 to my Tour Date Overview, I stated that the German rock-pop artist has made it to my Songs of the Week ten times already. Long story short: her new one, Rausch, is just too good. And thus, here is her eleventh entry.

 

Oliver John – Memories of You

Oliver John is a French–British singer songwriter living in London nowadays. Memories of You is his debut single release. However, it already gained quite some reputation on social media. I feel that this is absolutely deserved.

 

Dove Cameron – When In Rome

US West Coast Dove Cameron is known as a singer and actress. For example, she was part of Disney Channel’s Liv and Maddie. Since 2018, she is releasing music. In 2022, she had a major hit with Boyfriend.

 

Raylee – Going Out Out

I recently ran into the Norwegian dance pop artist Raylee when I covered the Wenzel Nordic Cup in handball on the Faroe Islands. She’s got a quite interesting vita between teenage talent shows, the Eurovision Song Contest and an own cosmetics brand – hope to introduce you closer to her in an Spotlight interview very soon. This week, she released the catching dance track Going Out Out.

 

Isabel van Gelder – Kissing You Away

Isabel van Gelder is a Dutch singer-songwriter. If I wouldn’t be active that much these days, I would have definitely loved to feature her show in my home town Cologne next Wednesday (details in my Tour Date Overview). This week, she released her new song Kissing You Away.

 

Dottir – Your Mind

Dottir is the artist name of Susanna Heralvsdottir, who is a Danish-Faroese alternative rock scene. She got rather successful with very atmospheric, mysterious tracks with an experimental touch. Your Mind is teasing her upcoming album Kavarok.
