As my wife and I did not want to have a rental car for two days in Las Vegas in December 2025, we aimed for a stay at the Strip. With the Hilton Group turning more and more places into Hilton Grand Vacations hotels, I was curious how it would be to stay in one of the traditional casino hotels. Many of them are rather at the pricey side – but the Treasure Island felt to give us a good location at a reasonable price. The famous pirate show is not happening any more, but I was really curious abou this experience. Here is the review of our stay.

 

Treasure Island – Location & Access

Treasure Island is located right at the Las Vegas Strip (S Las Vegas Blvd). The resort is located right opposite of the Venetian. The next casino hotels to the South are the new Hard Rock Hotel (former location of the Mirage), the Bellagio, and Cesars Palace.There is a direct connection from the hotel to the Fashion Show Mall. Thus, the hotel is really nicely located, in the heart of the Southern Strip attractions.

If you want to use public transport, the DEUCE bus is having stops nearby. At the time of writing, the Treasure Island has still been one of the few spots on the Strip, which provides free parking. Alternatively, you can commute by taxi and rideshare services or the Las Vegas Monorail (Harrah’s & LINQ stop).

 

Treasure Island – The Room

We had two nights in December 2025, Thursday to Saturday. We went for a flexible rate at a Petite King Suite room, which was 319.52 USD, including all taxes and the useless resort fee. You had to prepay the first night at reservation, which was a 95.19 USD fee. The room was located in the upper floor and would have had lovely views of the Southern part of the Strip. However, it was partially blocked by the construction of the Hard Rock Casino, which will nowadays even block the view even more.

Apart from that the room felt rather dark, I really liked it. The design was not that modern, but the size was really striking. The cosy sofa, and the large desk were elements I really liked. As the room features a fridge as well, it was definitely a nice living area and basis for exploring the city or spending some money in the casino.

A really lovely part of the room was the bathroom. The Petite Suite category comes with seperate shower and jacuzzi bathtub, which was a really nice option for relaxing after a long day. Again, the bathroom was absolutely spacious and also had sufficient opportunities to leave your personal items. You did see that the hotel has a certain age, but the maintenance and cleaning was absolutely fine and pleasing.

 

Treasure Island – Food & Services

The key service of the hotel is obviously the casino. Treasure Island is definitely one of the more traditional gambling places, but it does have a certain spirit. The check-in took a bit of time, but was overall, rather efficient. Like in most Las Vegas casino hotels, you cross the casino section on the way to your room. The resort fee includes WiFi connection, which works quite fine. There are also some shows and entertainment places in the resort. Breakfast is not included / provided – however, there are some options within the premises and a Denny’s more or less across the road. The hotel also runs a nice pool area which was closed in December 2025.

 

Treasure Island – My View

Definitely, the Treasure Island is a rather traditional option in Las Vegas. However, free parking, the nice rooms, the great location and the – very often – very competitive pricing compared to the hotels around do lead to a very attractive stay. For our two day stay in “Sin City”, it has definitely been a very nice choice.
