Damn, I miss the Faroe Islands. I had a lovely weekend there last week. In the meantime, the weather and temperatures in Germany felt to adopt to the conditions in the Nordic country. However, the atmosphere stays German. That was, however, no reason to go for a non-German song leading my weekly release radar. Hope you enjoy my selection of new songs.
Fighter V – Radio Tokyo
This week, the leading song of my Songs of the Week is coming from Switzerland. The melodic rock band Fighter V released their new song Radio Tokyo – and I feel this one is really well staying in your mind.
Mastodon feat. Lamb of God – Floods of Triton
The metal tunes of the week are coming from the USA. Mastodon collaborates with their countrymen Lamb of God and hammer the guitars. A treat for fans of the harder rock sounds.
Greyshadow – Can’t Get Around
The third song on my list this week is Can’t Get Around by the the Austrian artist Greyshadow. The indie-pop track comes with really nice vibes. I absolutely enjoyed it.
Flore – Back To Bed
Fløre (what the correct spelling of her artist name is) becomes a more and more frequent part of my release radar. The singer from Iserlohn in Germany takes us Back To Bed this week. Good timing. I definitely feel it is too cold outside – and need some warmth. Nice alternative pop song.
Jeremy Loops – Go Again
Need some summer vibes? They are coming right from Jeremy Loops studio in Cape Town, South Africa. The artist, however, also has a Swiss passport and already had some chart placements there. A nice pop song with a flavor of reggae.
ØL – The Fool
The band name sounds Scandinavian. However, in fact Ol are from the Odenwald region in Germany. A really nice pop-rock track with a nice touch.
Courteneers – Pink Cactus Cafe
On Thursday, the Courteneers released their nice and easy new song Pink Cactus Cafe. The British band has already quite some reputation, they are currently working towards their seventh studio album.
Lars Hagen – Rückenwind
Time for some schllager. Rückenwind by Lars Hagen comes with a really nice touch. His slightly raspy voice adds a bit of character. I feel that the song itself has even more potential than it sounds at first sight. But the song is definitely showing that this artist from Wuppertal is having quite some potential.
Til Sommer – Alles, außer Schlager
Til Sommer made me smile this week. His song title translates to “Everything but schlager”. But, of course, the song about a love story with some discrepancy in musical taste is in fact a die-hard schlager track. Some nice reference in this track by the artist from Stuttgart, who is nowadays living in Berlin.
Max Giesinger – Menschen
You don’t need to introduce Max Giesinger in the German music scene any more. The German artist has absolutely established in his domestic market and adjacent countries. This week, he released his new track, Menschen.
Berre – Not Going Anywhere
The song Not Going Anywhere is teasing Berre’s upcoming album I’ll Call You When I’m Home. Very intense song by the Belgian artist.
Tears For Fears – The Girl That I Call Home
I close my Songs of the Week with the biggest band name on my this week’s list. The British pop group Tears for Fears from Bath is on stage for 43 years now. Their biggest song Shout is celebrating its fourteeth anniversary in November. And they still do beautiful music – like this one.

Hey hey! Thanks for the nice words. We are from Ødenwald near Frankfurt. Theres another band named øl, they are from Fürth.
Have a good time
See reply to Marcus 🙂 Sorry for that 🙂
Hello Florian, I am Marcus the bassman from ØL. Thank’s a lot for recomending our song!
I only have one tiny hint: We are not located in Nuremberg but in the beautiful region Odenwald. It is said the name relates to Odin meaning the region is Odins’ wood.
We realized lately, that there is a second band coming from Fürth with the same name. We currently about to sort this out.
Nevertheless, would you please correct this information?

Oh, sorry… I corrected that 🙂 I unfortunately did not have too much bio information about you (just knew you are from Germany), so I obviously went for the wrong one 🙂
