Flyctory.com Pros

  • Nice location close to the airport
  • Good shuttle / connections from hotel to airport
  • Good room and services

As flights were much cheaper from Brussels (BRU) than from Dusseldorf (DUS) or Frankfurt (FRA), I opted for the Belgian major airport to kick off my trip to the Infosys Hall of Fame Open 2024 in Newport, Rhode Island. As the three hour drive from my home is very often exposed to traffic jams, I rather went for the relaxed way and had the night before my flight at a nearby airport hotel. The Novotel Brussels Airport offered a very favorable package, so that I chose that Accor Group option in July 2024. Here is my review.

Novotel Brussels Airport – Location

The hotel is located in a rather commercial area with a lot of offices. This unfortunately also means that you have to drive to the borough of Zaventem to do things like grocery shopping. The connection to the airport is rather ideal, though. It is a five to ten minute drive to the terminal.

The hotel is connected to the airport by a complimentary shuttle, which is leaving every 20 minutes on weekends and every 30 minutes on weekdays. There is also a public bus service, which is stopping very close to the hotel. From the hotel, it is just a short drive to the airport access road and the Brussels motorway orbiter. It is too far away to explore the city of Brussels, though.

Novotel Brussels Airport – Room

I had booked a Superior Room for one night in July 2024, Friday to Sunday. Included in the package for an up to 15 days parking on the hotel premises as well as breakfast. I received a complimentary upgrade as an Accor Gold member. The total price for the package of 190.05 EUR. The room was actually quite nice. It had a very good size so that I did not have any issue to store my luggage. As one of the outlets was taken by a Bluetooth speaker, there was just one free power outlet at the large work desk, which was a bit too limited. Therefor, I had complimentary water in the fridge, which I always appreciate.

The sanitary facilities were split into a bathroom with a large shower and the toilet. The bathroom was really nice and came with Rituals amenities in dispensers, which I absolutely liked. Like the whole room, the room was really clean. Here and there, the hotel room felt a bit outdated – the TV screen and its quality might need some update soon. The toilet, however, really lead to struggle. Yeah, I am big – but I can hardly imagine that a leaner person can close the door while doing his/her business. The space between the door and the loo is just too small.

Novotel Brussels Airport – Breakfast

Breakfast at Novotel Brussels Airport is served from 6:00. The breakfast area is neat, but they had some quite nice options of bread, warm dishes and a lot of fruit. You could also prepare your own juice frech from fruits. I really liked that breakfast.

Novotel Brussels Airport – Service

The staff was really welcoming and friendly. Check-in and check-out worked out very efficiently. I was pleased with the WiFi as well, even though it felt a bit weaker on Saturday morning. The hotel is also driving a gym, which I missed to visit. A key feature of the hotel, which I already mentioned, is the complimentary shuttle. It is shared with the Crowne Plaza Hotel, which is just maybe some 200m away (each hotel has its own stop, though).

Novotel Brussels Airport – My View

The Novotel is maybe not the poshest option out there, but very convenient. It definitely served all my needs. The shuttle is working very well – and in worst case public transport is a good alternative. Thus, if I have similar needs again, I would definitely bear in mind this place again.
