Flyctory.com Songs Of The Week (week of 12th June 2026)

This week I had to take some tough decisions. One of them was that I withdrew from all potential coverages of multi-day outdoor events this year. My health situation is simply not allowing to do it. Unfortunately, this also means that I will quite likely skip the whole outdoor athletics season. On the music side, there are still some interesting things during the next weeks. Like the Looking back to… to Puddles Pity Party in Alpharetta near Atlanta I shared this week. Or this week’s Songs of the Week, which is a nice mixture of different genres. Enjoy!

Train – Pennsylvania Turnpike

This week is lead by the alternative rock and roots rock band Train. The quintet around singer Patrick Monahan have been founded in 1994 in San Francisco already. This week, the West Coast band takes you to the East of the United States – I really like their trip to the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

The Warning – Ritual

The only harder rocking song this week is Ritual by the Mexican band The Warning. The band is a trio consisting of three sisters. Especially the voices of Daniela (also guitar) and Paulina (also drums) strike in this one. Alejandra on the bass is responsible for the right groove. They are touring with Yungblud this summer.

A Cup Of-T – No, No, No

A Cup Of-T is a German acoustic rock band from the Greater Stuttgart region. They already had some quite remarkable gigs like playing at the Cavern in Liverpool. This week, they released their new song No, No, No. It simply stays in your mind.

Livingston – Paper Crowns

Livingston is popular far outside his US home state Texas. For example, he had sold out shows in Germany in 2024 and 2025. This week, he released the energetic song Paper Crowns. On Instagram only, 1.7 million followers will keep their fingers crossed for another successful one.

Will Linley – I Loved, I Lost

Will Linley is a South African artist, He started releasing music in 2022 and is strongly backed up on social media as well. Over 300k people are following his account on TikTok. The song might add quite some more, I guess. I Loved, I Lost is one of my favorites this week.

The Afterword – LA

LA (originally written about a befriended filmmaker in Los Angeles) is just the second single release by The Afterword. It is a project by two British songwriters, Tom Walkden and Alex Billig. I really like their style, coming with folk vibes and a cheeky melody and plot.

Super-Hi x Nova Tropics x Graham Candy – Anywhere With You

Even though the weather in Germany is rather cold and rainy currently, it is mid-June and thus time for summer songs. The British producer duo Super-Hi (George Tizzard and Rick Parkhouse) released a perfect dance-pop song for this purpose this week. I just had to share the rhythmic Anywhere With You, which they recorded together with Nova Tropics and Graham Candy.

Blechquetscher – Kruzefix

Blechquetscher are an Austrian band from Styria. The accordion in Kruzefix rather feels like traditional folk, but the song has a quite rocking touch. This one definitely has the potential becoming a summer party track in Southern Germany and Austria.

Matthias Reim – Die Sterne lügen

Matthias Reim is doing what he is doing best. His new album Die Sterne lügen (“The Stars are lying”) is an energetic schlager song with a typical love message. He will soon be touring Germany again (see my Tour Date Overview).

Jubel – Ocean House

The Swedish duo Jubel are back with a new single. This week, they make you dance with Ocean House. With their version of Dancing in the Moonlight released in 2018, they have gained over a billion streams. Let’s see where this song is taking them.

Davina Michelle – Would I Be Friends With Me?

Would I Be Friends With Me? leads to Davina Michelle’s sixth appearance in my Songs of the Week. The 30 years old artist from Rotterdam, Netherlands, more and more established in music markets outside her home country already. In September 2026, she is kicking off her Afterparty Tour through multiple European countries.

J.Bernardt – Four In The Morning

J.Bernhardt is the solo project of Jinte Deprez. The Belgian artist is better known as one of the singers and guitarists of the band Balthazar, which had four chart-topping albums in Flanders. A really nice alt pop song.

Nina Caroline – Over again

In November 2025, I featured Outsider, the debut EP by Nina Caroline. The EP later also made it to my favorite EPs of the year. The Frankfurt-origin artist, who won a TV talent show at the age of 11, released her new song Over again this week. Another really lovely pop track by Nina, who is nowadays living in Berlin.

Kodaline – Without You

Good times, sad times for Kodaline fans. The Irish band has recently announced their fifth album We Were Only Young. You can listen to it from 2nd October 2026. Additionally, though, they announce that they will break up after the corresponding tour. Their last show will be on 16th December 2026 in London.
