Summer time in Germany. I am still rather busy, also doing some planning for 2027 already. I don’t do these NHL schedule analysis posts any more –  but for me as a fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins, there is a quite nice series of matches in March 2027. This also means that I will miss Country To Country in Berlin next year.

The list of my favorite new song releases this week is rather short (again). The European music industry still feels enjoying their summer break. Nonetheless, there are some really nice ones – so hope you enjoy my song selection.

The Spotify playlist also additionally includes the new song by Jenn Bostic, Keepin On. Surprisingly, there is no YouTube video so that I could not include it in here.

 

Ellie Goulding – 4 Seasons

I guess I don’t need to introduce you to Ellie Goulding. The British pop artist had such an amazing career so far – and she is still in the 30’s of her life. Two Grammy Awards and a Brit Award are just two major milestones of her career. This week, the British artist released the beautiful pop track 4 Seasons.

 

Linus Bruhn – Midnight Driver

Linus Bruhn is appearing on Flyctory.com for the first time. How could I miss this German singer-songwriter from Hamburg before? His pop track with a slight folk touch is an amazing listen.In 2015, he competed at The Voice of Germany. Later, in 2019, he was a contestant at the 2019 German qualification for the Eurovision Song Contest. This week, he released the lovely song Midnight Driver, which simply stays in my mind.

 

Kamrad – Love Sober

Wuppertal-born (Tim) Kamrad released a new soAg as well this week. His new song deals with love – of all kind.  A really good one – with a catching, international signature.

 

Total Tommy – Trapezoid

Sydney-based Australian artist Jess Holt is Total Tommy. With the song Trapezoid, she is also teasing her new album. The song will be its title track. Fans need to wat until 23rd October 2026 until they can finally have a full listen.

 

Flakra – I aevir

I love introducing you to the Faroe Islands in my Songs of the Week. This time, there is reallly beatiful and harmonic listen from my favorite islands. Flakra is a with Tina Mellemgaard, who also recorded music as Tina Mellem. The other member is Bjørk Sigurdsdóttir Lamhauge, who typically publishes as Brimhvitt.

 

Manfred Mann’s Earth Band – Stronger Than Me

It more than two decades ago since I saw Manfred Mann and his Earth band live on stage. Their show in Bonn was outstanding. the more, I like that the South African artist is still releasing music – like this one.

 

President – Dark Heaven

Founded in 2025, the British alternative metal and mtalcoree band is one of the most interesting new acts in the British metal scene. I ran into the track on a promotion platform and just had to nominate it for my this week’s Songs of the Week.

 

Tony Iommi – World Alone

Tony Iommi is doing the final song of my post this week. With World Alone, the metal guitarist and co-founder of Black Sabbath shares his new song. A really rough, rocking, but also melodic beautiful experience.
