While the majority of my community is likely having a focus on Nashville and the CMA Fest, I rather did tour-chasing Weird Al Yankovic. I already shared my impressions of his show in Alpharetta near Atlanta. My Songs of the Week this time are rather short, but come with some really fine tracks. Hope you enjoy them!
Amber Van Day – Flying Cars and Sex Machines
My Song of the Week this time is from the United Kingdom. Amber Van Day is a 1996-born artist from Hove/Brighton and moved to London at the age of 18. Especially her 2018 song WTF was a huge success. This week, she released Flying Cars and Sex Machines – a lovely pop–rock track.
Electric Callboy feat. The Offspring – Let the Good Times Roll
German metal meets US American punk: Let The Good Times Roll is a very interesting collaboration of the two bands Electric Callboy and The Offspring. And: there is a flavor of both acts in the song. Nice one!
Overgrown – Blind
Overgrown are a nu metal band from the very North of England. This week, they released their new song Blind. Next week, they will be on the road, supporting Yonaka on some of their gigs.
Taylor Swift – I Knew It, I Knew You
One of the likely most popular releases this week is I Knew It, I Knew You. Whenever Taylor Swift is releasing music, it feels like a holiday for the “Swifties”. Her nw song, however, is a soundtrack song for the fifth episode of Toy Story.
Bunch of Ace – Feel The Sunshine
Summer time in Northern Germany: the twins Bunch of Ace released their summer song Feel The Sunshine this Friday. A really nice one – even though their home country is currently rather covered with rain than with warm and dry weather.
Phake & Haley Maze – Hot Boys Cry
Phake is a German artist from my home town Cologne. Together with German EDM singer-songwriter Haley Maze, he recorded the dance pop track Hot Boys Cry. Maybe, he makes you dance as well.
