Flyctory.com Songs Of The Week (week of 4th April 2025)

An intense week lays behind me. I started a new job on Tuesday and I am thus full of new impressions, new processes, new tasks, coming back from my new colleagues in Munich. Thus, maintaining the website was much more tricky than I hoped for. I had quite some rocking candidates who could potentially lead my Songs of the Week this time, but went for a solo pop debut from the United States finally.

Lydia Night – Pity Party

Lydia Night is an artist from New Orleans, who is majorly knows as a member of the band The Regrettes. However, after co-founding this band in 2015 in Los Angeles, they split up in 2023 and Lydia went solo. Here is her very first single release on her solo artist path – I really like it.

Badflower – Paws

Badflower is a US rock band. They are originally from Los Angeles, but are nowadays based in Nashville. Paws is a single of the new album No Place Like Home, which is scheduled to be released on 20th June 2025.

The Beaches – Last Girls At The Party

Fans of The Beaches look forward to 29th August 2025. The Canadian alternative rockers announced their third studio album No Hard Feelings for that days. Last Girls at the Party is their first single release from it. A really nice sound.

Jessie Murph – Gucci Mane

2004-born Alabama artist Jessie Murph is rather known for country and country rock sounds. However, her new song Gucci Mane rather heads into the pop direction. A very hymnic track.

Madeline Juno – Hab ich Dir je gesagt…

After four songs from North America, Madeline Juno is the first German artist on my list this week. The artist from Offenburg is turning 30 this year and is expected to share her seventh studio album this year. Her this week’s release is a really nice, modern pop track.

Michael Schulte – Afterlife

Northern German artist Michael Schulte pops up very frequently in my release radar category. His new song Afterlife comes with a good beat and some folk and shanty vibes. A really nice pop track.

Stefanie Heinzmann – Power

Pop and soul – these are the main engines of Swiss artist Stefanie Heinzmann. And that’s what Power is made of as well. An impressing voice, which is driving a very energetic song. Her new album Circles has been announced for 2025. The corresponding tour through Switzerland and Germany will take place in 2026.

The Boyscout – Valhalla

Fibromyalgia, cancer – the Southern German singer and guitarist Manuel Mijalkovski has quite a bad faith in regards of his health situation. In his new song Valhalla, he is praising the Nordic warriors. The song barely missed to be on the very top of my list this week.

H.E.A.T. – Running To You

In three weeks, the Swedish hard rockers will release their new studio album Welcome To The Future. The latest appetizer definitely kicks off a count-down – I am looking forward to that record. In early May, they will present it in Mexico and South America.

The Hives – Enough Is Enough

Another Swedish rock band are The Hives. They also announced their new album The Hives Forever Forever The Hives and will be on tour in later 2025. This one is really cool alternative rocker.

Bruce Springsteen – Rain In The River

One of the most interesting music news of the week came from Bruce Springsteen. With Rain In The Room, he is teasing his upcoming release Tracks II: The Lost Albums, a box set of seven previously unreleased albums. The 83 track giant will lead to a lot of listening time from 27th June 2025 onward.

Ellie Benn – Life Doesn’t Wait

I featured Ellie Benn in my post about modern country musicians from Germany. Her new song, however, is a pop track with a melancholic style. Nonetheless, I really like it.

Dressed Like Boys – Lies

With Dressed Like Boys, the post is heading to Belgium. The project is a solo work by Jelle Denturck from Ghent. A lovely, gentle sound in his new song Lies. He is expected to release the debut album of his musical child later in 2025.

Tina Rogers – No Words, No Tears

Tina Rogers is looking back to a long career in the German music scene already. No Words, No Tears is one of the most characteristic tracks of my post this week. It deals with a break-up.

Shyfrin Alliance – Buddha Blues

Shyfrin Alliance is a blues rock project driven by Eduard Shyfrin. Shyfrin is also known as an author and scientist, originally from the Ukraine. He is nowadays a London resident.
