  • Characteristic blues rock sound with Americana vibes
  • Good storytelling

It’s been seven years since Ingvay from Germany released his last album. Scanning the 19th June 2026 new album, I ran into his new record Still Moving on a promotion platform. I felt it is definitely worth a deeper listen.

Ingvay – About The Artist

Ingay is the artist name of the German artist Ingo Schmidt. He is majorly established in the German music scene as a sound engineer. In that role, he has been part of the tour of several major national acts. As a solo artist, he is doing a mixture of blues, roots rock and Americana sounds. So far, he has released two albums. After his debut one, The Green House Concert (2017), he also published Keep It Up in 2019.

Ingvay – Still Moving – Track by Track

The eleven song album lasts 42 minutes.

1. The Old Way

Still Moving starts with the two single releases of the album so far. The opener is The Old Way. The gnarled guitar riffs and the bass groove spread some blues and rock vibes from the first time. The song is rather fast in pace. It feels like it could be even better with a slightly slower speed.

2. Get Up

Get Up is a very straight blues rocker with very present beats from the drum. The song is not only driven by the guitars and the drums, but also comes with an nice support from the keys. Good one.

3. Home By The River

The first previously unreleases song of the album is Home by the River. The song is significantly slower than the two openers and thus has a more thoughtful style. The fine melody is very present and spreads harmony and warmth. I really like it.

4. Some Kind Of Rock ‘n’ Roll

Indeed, this song is Some Kind of Rock ‘n’ Roll. The song has cool rock vibes, but still has that bluesy groove. This leads to catching rhythm and makes you move to the vibes of the track. The rougher guitar play leads to a really enjoyable and characterful listen.

5. Now I Can See

Now I Can See is one of the slower songs on Still Moving. It is a rather laid back track with nice lyrics. Again, Ingvay is using rather typical Americana instruments, which feel like the perfect foundation for his song. Nice one!

6. Give Me A Shot

Ingay published a couple of concert dates for the next weeks. I feel that Give Me A Shot could become one of the highlights of the gigs. On the one hand, there is that lovely groove of the blues. Secondly, the song is driven by lovely work on the guitar. Last, but not least, the chorus is perfectly done for some singing along with the German. It’s not too complex, but very energetic and quickly stays in your mind. One of the best songs of the album.

7. Wake Up This Time

With almost five minutes, the seventh track is the longest one on Ingvay’s 2026 record. You quickly get into the slower track. Again, the chorus is the heartbeat of the track. The raspy voice of the singer-songwriter beautifully suits the atmosphere of the track.

8. New Reflection

New Reflection expands the range of songs of Still Moving towards country rock. The melody is a rather typical one and also leads to some nostalgic feelings. However, the vocal side of it adds some uniqueness and character. Really good one.

9. Back To The Sun

The core melody of Back To The Sun could easily be a 1980’s or 1990’s track. However, Ingvay is adding his very own style to it. Thus, the song feels likes a lovely fit to this set, being boosted by a pop-ish melody and chorus. The song is a rather easy listen, which is not thin at all.

10. On Monday

The second half of the album comes with a couple of catching, melodic songs. On Monday is just in line with that. Even though the ingredients and influences feel to be kind of similar among these tracks, each of them delivers a different listen. Nice!

11. Almost There

Indeed, we are Almost There. The song is closing Still Moving. The song is a quiet farewell in an acoustic-alike setting. A beautiful and gentle way of closing this record.

Ingvay – Still Moving – Track by Track

Great to see that Ingay is Still Moving. His 2026 record is simply a good listen, combining different Americana influences and rock. I especially liked his storytelling and the characteristic voice. The album is not in the very highest range of my ratings, but it will give you a good time with good vibes.

Favorite Song: Back To The Sun
