You cannot over-estimate the performance of German Viktorija Cesonyte. After she won the almost three hour girls singles final at the International German Under 14 Tennis Nationals in Düren, she had two more matches on the final Saturday. With her Romanian partner Maria Valentina Pop, she first had to win the girls doubles semifinal to go for another title in finals there. Their opponents were Paweenon Nualsri (Thailand) and Sijia Zhang (China). Due to the long day at the ground, the final was played on Main Court 1 and not on the center court.

Int. German U14 Tennis Nationals – Girls Doubles Final – Match Notes
I just watched the first set of this match. Cesonyte and Pop played quite in line with what the German player with Lithuanian roots had done in the girls singles as well. With cross shots and high top spins, they tried to eliminate the net player on the opposite side and sometimes were both at the baseline, even at own serve. The Asian pairing struggled with that and did not manage to put steady pressure on the German-Romanian pairing. However, just when the first set felt to go to the tie-break, they managed to have the deciding break and win the first set by 7-5. After Zhang had a medical treatment late in the first set, they felt to adopt better now, winning the second set rather straight by 6-2.
