When I received my rental car from Avis at Myrtle Beach Airport (MYR), the representative there surprised me. Homewood Suites? That is 302 Seaboard Street, ain’t it? The hotel is in fact very closely located to the airport and a mall, which is finally also giving its name to this Hilton place. Apart from a very competitive prices, these were finally the two main reasons why I opted for the Homewood Suites Myrtle Beach Coastal Grand Mall for my two night stay in late October 2023. Here is my review.

 

Homewood Suites Coastal Grand Mall – Location

The hotel is located right next to the Coastal Grand Mal in Myrtle Beach, close to the Northeast edge of the runways of Myrtle Beach Airport (MYR). There are a few restaurants in and around the mall, which does not include any grocery store. However, a Walmart is located a few minutes away to the East.

Driving time to the airport is less than five minutes, You reach city center in about ten minutes. The hotel provides free parking. If you want to explore the area, the entrance to US Highway 17 is more or less around the corner from the hotel.

Homewood Suites Coastal Grand Mall – Room

My reservation was a King Studio Suite (the lowest room category) for a two night stay, Sunday to Tuesday in late October 2023. I have originally been on a semi-flex rate, but then went to a full pre-paid one as this saved quite some money. The rate was 359.22 USD. Breakfast is always included in this brand of Hilton. I really like the spacious layout of the room. To the left of the entrance, there is a nicely equipped kitchen (just a microwave, no oven), including a dishwasher, a large fridge and basic kitchen items. The dining table can also be used as a work desk, which I absolutely loved. I typically don’t use the sofa too much, but it is of course a nice feature of the room.

The shower bathroom is located next to the sleeping area. The general equipment is comparable to Hampton Inn hotels, but the bathroom was more spacious than that. Like the whole room, the sanitary area was rather clean. Amenities are given by dispensers. This also included shower gel, which is not always the case in US-American hotels (some rather feature soap.

 

Homewood Suites Coastal Grand Mall – Breakfast

Breakfast was provided in a dining area in the lobby. The presentation of the items was really nice, the range of food was a bit better than you would be used from Hampton Inn hotels. Especially the variety of fruit was nice. There were also bagels, waffle machines and alternating warm dishes.

Homewood Suites hotels typically offer “social evening”, which means that they serve a light, complimentary dinner. This is typically not done during weekends, so that most of the hotels of this brand I stayed with offered it Monday to Wednesday or Monday to Thursday. The Homewood Suites Myrtle Beach Coastal Grand Mall, though, is only having that service on Wednesdays – this is also why I missed it during my stay.

Homewood Suites Coastal Grand Mall – Service

The staff at the hotel was really kind. The check-in was friendly and overall, I felt very welcome. The internet connection in the room was nice as well. The hotel features a nice gym and a typical US-American sized outdoor hotel pool. After checking in at my room, I had an issue with the in room TV, which neither allowed be to change the volume nor to switch out the TV set at all. The technical staff was very quick and friendly and could solve the issue. Homewood Suites hotels feature laundries. The parking lot of the hotel has parking lots with chargers for electric cars.

 

Homewood Suites Coastal Grand Mall – My View

I really had two good nights at this hotel in Myrtle Beach. The room was really nice, the services were very friendly and effective. The location is not in the heart of town. However, you need to drive around to reach all the area’s attractions anyway. Thus, I do not see that as a negative point and would absolutely recommend this place.
