German Under 15 Floorball Nationals – Semifinals (6th July 2025)

After the Saturday Group Matches (Group A / Group B), four teams were still in the Medals’ Bracket on the second tournament day in Bremen. They opened the day with the semifinal matches at the German Under 15 Floorball Nationals. Let’s have a look who qualified for the last match of the day.

This posting comes with a section of 390 major size pictures in a dedicated event section of the sports galleries

German Under 15 Floorball Nationals – Semifinals

After the dominant performance of FBC Munich in the group matches, the focus felt to be on the first semifinal. But maybe, Leipzig could go for an upset? Here are my match notes of the semifinals.

The leam lineups can be found in the Saturday’s report.

Floorball Mainz – PSV Black Wolves Dessau 0-5 (0-0, 0-1, 0-4)

Compared to Saturday, Mainz felt much more solid in defense from the very beginning. They felt to have little more control of the first period. With a shot to the crossbar, Dessau hat the best chance in these 15 minutes though. Finally, there was no goal in the first period of a close and interesting battle. Dessau had significantly more momentum in the second period. They seized the Mainz defense, who still stood very solid and had some nice blocks. However, Clemens Constantin Ehler’s snipe in the 28th minute was just too good – and Dessau took the lead briefly before the second intermission.

In the third period, Dessau dominated the match. Mainz simply did not get any dangerous shots on the opponent’s goal, while their opponents took their chances. After the Black Wolves’ second goal, Mainz even had the chance to come back in power play, but wasted that opportunity. Finally, Dessau took profit of the more open play of their opponents and won.

FBC Munich – SC DHfK Leipzig 11-1 (2-1, 3-0, 6-0)

Lepzig felt much better than on Saturday in the first period. A goalie mistake even gave them the lead, but Munich fought back and scored twice rather quickly thereafter (5th, 7th). Thereafter, both teams played a physical, but overall very disciplined match, without any goal on either side. The match stayed closer than the second intermission score of 5-1 may suggest. Both teams had their chances, but he Southern Germans were simply brutally cruel in their conversion. Thus, there was some chance for a close and interesting match in the third period.

Leipzig just could not get the momentum in a hectic third period. Even when Munich’s Jason Mayer was sent off for four minutes, Leipzig allowed two short handed goals and filled up the bench by themselves. Finally, that set the direction for an easy win for FBC Munich, who made it to the finals by a 11-1 victory. Unfortunately, there were long discussions after Munich’s ninth goal whether Leipzig should have played with full strength or not.
