While there was a huge lot of new country songs coming out this week, the volume of interesting new songs from other genres was a bit limited. Nonetheless, I am sure you will find some interesting tunes in here. Have fun!
Yucaleman – Yucaleman
The story of this song is indeed weird. German artist Moritz lost his heart to Yucatan, decides to live in Mexico and does music – in Spanish! Does not sound like German music at all, but in fact it is. The song fascinated me this week even more as the self-titled track is in fact his debut song.
Samuel Rösch feat. Mishka – Stückchen Himmel
The former The Voice of Germany is back with a new track. Stückchen Himmel (“A piece of heaven”) is his second collaboration with Mischka. In 2023, they recorded the successful Wenn der Wind. This one is another beautiful one.
Genevieve Racette – Je rends es armes
I typically don’t feature too many songs in French in here. However, I just could not ignore this one by the Quebec artist Genevieve Racette. Thanks, Canada, for this lovely piece of folk-pop.
Fidi Steinback feat. Singin’ Ida – Kann wieder nicht schlafen
The Hamburg singer-songwriter Fidi Steinbeck released this lovely ballad (“Can’t sleep again”) this week. She worked together with Singin’ Ida, which is a children’s choir from her residence Hamburg.
d’Artagnan ft. Piper Ally – Wake Me Up
It’s not that long ago since I introduced you to the Avicii Experience in Stockholm. While I am back to the Swedish capital this weekend, I just felt that this song feels like a perfect fit to my trip. A very different, but very catching experience with Tim Bergling’s song.
Tarja feat. Dani Filth – I Don’t Care
I am a big fan of Tarja Turunen. In 2005, she left Nightwish and kept a great solo career in metal. This week, the Finnish artist released I Don’t Care. She is collaborating with Dani Filfth from Cradle of Filth. Love it!
Dead Pioneers ft. The Interrupters – Never Alone
The US American punk rockers Dead Pioneers are working towards their new album. Wagon Burner will be available in late July 2026. Never Alone is one of the feature singles. They are supported by the Los Angeles ska punk band The Interrupters.
Airborne – Alive After Death (Last Plane Out)
When we rock together in denim and leather we live forever – that’s what Airborne’s lead singer Joel O’ Keeffe is stating in the lyrics of their new song. Alive After Death (Last Plane Out) is indeed a great one by the Australians. In summer, you will have them at multiple European festival stages.
Zeronic – The Hope And The Enemy
Zeronic is an alternative rock band from Austria. The Hope And The Enemy is a huge comeback song – their previous single, My Heart is Still in Your Hands has been released fourteen years ago. There will also be an album, Modernism.
Johnni Hamburg – Ich wüscht ich wär ein Supermann
I just had to share this schlager track with you – even if quite some of you might not speak German. The artist Johnni Hamburg states “I wish I were a Suoerman”. This song is definitely one of the most entertaining ones of the week.
Duran Duran – Free To Love
The book of the story of Duran Duran already features 48 years. The British new wave band from Birmingham are still touring and releasing music. Like this one, Free To Love. A really good one.
Suntears – Drop Me A Line
Suntears is a German rock duo, consisting of the brothers Andy and Marcus Fechner. Their new single was created during recording works to a movie. A really nice farewell track for this week’s Songs of the Week.
