Hannah Köpf - Flowermind
Flyctory.com Pros
- Great vocal and instrumental quality
- Good narrations
- Interesting blending of different genres
Flyctory.com Cons
- Not a constant song quality
I always love to run into new names when it comes to country music. Hannah Köpf is from Germany. She originally aimed for a jazz career, but then mixed more and more folk, country and other Americana influences into her music. On 16th May 2025, she released her fifth album Flowermind.
Hannah Köpf – About The Artist
Hannah Köpf is a German singer-songwriter, who was born in 1980. She first aimed to become a teacher and studied in Cologne, before she moved to Amsterdam to study jazz vocals. In the meantime, she is living back in Cologne. She has released four studio albums so far. However, the most recent one, Cinnamon is dated as of 2019. A fun fact about the German is that she participated at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. However, as part of the backing vocals of Claudia Faniello’s Breathlessly, she did not make it to the finals.
Hannah Köpf – Flowermind – Track by Track
The nine track album lasts 43 minutes.

1. Ancestor Song
The album kicks off with the Ancestor Song. Like four other songs of Flowermind, Hannah has released the track beforehand. The song is an intimate, slow singer-songwriter track with folk and pop influences. The instrumentation in the background is limited, the focus on the vocals and the short, but present chorus. Nice opener.
2. Flowermind
The second track of the album is Flowermind. The fiddle parts and the vibes turn the direction of the record into a different direction – country music. Thereby, Köpf beautifully narrates the story of the song with her fine and high voice. The title track of the album is a lovely one.
3. Where The Ocean Sleeps
Just some slow drumming, some piano tunes and other fine instrumental ingredients – it does not need too much on the backing part of the third song to turn it into a beautiful. The gentle sway feels like a perfect match to Where The Ocean Sleeps, which becomes significantly more powerful towards its end.
4. Lighthearted Love
Lighthearted Love starts with pop-ish, almost “lighthearted” vibes. However, there is quite a long listen ahead at this time. The fourth track of Flowermind lasts over six minutes. The stanzas feel soulful, especially the chorus also has some bluesy components. However, the track creates quite some complexity and intensity and feels very jazzy as well. The chorus works out very nicely in here as well.
5. Lavender Fields
Just at the beginning of the fifth track of her album, Hannah Köpf asks to take a walk with me along lavender feels. These four minutes illustrates the beauty and expertise of her voice best. There is not a that wide range of notes, but her style on the microphones leads to a very personal touch. However, there is also plenty of space for her musicians like organist Mike Roelofs or guitarist Bastian Ruppert to present themselves in here as well.
6. Marsh Girl
Each of the last five songs of this nine track record last over five minutes. Thereby, Marsh Girl is the shortest one. There are stronger country vibes in here again Köpf’s style reminds me of Kacey Musgraves song. Köpf feels deeper and thus even more intense, though.
7. Silken Paper Dream
It initially feels that Silken Paper Dreams is nothing but a slower, thoughful track solely driven by the piano. However, the song has some very intense and louder moments. In the context of the whole record, the track feels even a bit of rocking in its most intense moments.
8. Stand Along With You
The penultimate song cannot deny Americana references. However, Stand Along With You also has quite a lot of energy and guitar presence, especially in the chorus. The bridge is also a nice guitar solo. I really enjoy listening to this one.
9. Diamonds On The Soles Of Her Shoes
The closing track has some country music vibes again. Violin Joon Laukamp is taking over the key responsibility to drive the song in here. Towards the end, Diamonds On The Soles Of Her Shoes is taking an almost snappy twist. Thus, you finish listening to Flowermind with a smile, likely.

Hannah Köpf – Flowermind – Track by Track
Without a doubt, there is a lot of musical and instrumental quality in this album. Hanna Köpf and her team know how to create a nice plot. Not all of the songs are striking, but the stunning blending of various genres is definitely fun. I really enjoyed listening to Flowermind.
