Flyctory.com Pros

  • Nice hotel with an individual touch
  • Friendly and good services
  • Nice room design

A workshop in January 2026 brought me back to Hamburg. It was held in a hotel in the Speicherstadt area, the Pierdrei Hotel HafenCity Hamburg. Here is the review of my stay.

The stay has been paid by the company I work for. This does not influence my review.

Pierdrei Hotel HafenCity – Location

The hotel is located in the traditional Speicherstadt district, which features the former storages of Hamburg Harbor. The area is nowadays very vibrant and includes some really interesting places. The most striking one is Germany’s best rated attraction, the Miniatur Wunderland. However, it is also a short walk from Pierdrei Hotel HafenCity to Elbe Philharmonic Hall. Other minor attractions include the Coffee Museum Burg or Spicy’s Spices Museum. the There are also some stores and restaurants in the area.

The easiest way to get to the hotel is by bus. The stop Singapurstraße is located right in front of the hotel. It is connected by lines 2, 4, 6, and 607 and also offers connections to Hamburg Main Station and other local and national train connections. If you want to use Hamburg’s Underground services, the stations Meßberg (line U1) and Überseequartier (U4) are both a five to ten minutes walk away. In case you arrive by car, there is a public parking garage nearby. At the time of writing, the daily parking fee is 28 Euro.

Pierdrei Hotel HafenCity – Room

I had one night in the hotel, Friday to Saturday in January 2027. As said, the stay was paid by the company I work for. Typical high season prices range around 150 to 200 Euro. I liked that the room had a very individual and welcoming style. The size was not overwhelming, but actually really fine for a city stay. I liked that there was plenty of space, at least for smaller bags and suitcases. The work desk area with a basic chair came with four power outlets – something you rarely have in much higher rated hotels. The hotel room also comes with a fridge, which you can fill with your own items (or those you buy at the reception store). The bed was really nice as well, the room was also rather quiet, despite being located at a major street. A fun fact about the room was that it even had two board games and a few books – you definitely find a way spending your time at the Pierdrei Hotel HafenCity.

The shower bathroom was absolutely fine in space. It felt very modern and functional, with nice amenities provided in dispensers. You also had some space for your toiletries, which was very handy. The whole room felt very well maintained and clean, so that I absolutely enjoyed my stay in there.

Pierdrei Hotel HafenCity – Breakfast

Breakfast is served in the restaurant, which also also very vibrant on the evening. Pierdrei offers a nice buffet with a good selection of different items. Especially in regards of different kinds of bread and cold cuts, they do a really good job. The presentation is very nice as well, so that the hotel is providing a nice kick-off of the day.

Pierdrei Hotel HafenCity – Service

The staff was absolutely friendly. Checking in and out was very smooth. The hotel offers some nice services. For example, you can rent a bike or make your children enjoy the playroom. There is also a convenience store next to the reception. In summer, I am sure that the rooftop terrace is an absolute treat. I just had a short walk up there in the January winter scenery and really enjoyed it. On another terrace, the hotel is driving Camper City, where you can sleep and stay in a travel trailer.

Pierdrei Hotel HafenCity – My View

Yes, I have to admit, I am a hotel chain person. Hilton, Accor, and all the others are typically the places I stay in. The more, I enjoyed the refreshing, individual style of the Pierdrei Hotel HafenCity. The place is extremely charming, the staff is nice and the rooms are nicely designed. The small, special treats like the board games made me smile, even though I was not using them. Overall, I absolutely enjoyed my stay in the hotel and would definitely recommend it.
