Flyctory.com Pros

  • Great connection to the I-40
  • Good breakfast

Flyctory.com Cons

  • Some maintenance issues
  • Remote from Nashville

Especially during major events like the CMA Fest, having a central accommodation in Nashville comes with one huge issue: the price. Thus, I felt to try out two budget alternatives during my stay in August 2022. The first one was the Hampton Inn in Lebanon, which is quite a bit of East of the city. Naturally, the prices there are at least a bit more moderate. Apart from that, the location gave me the opportunity to have a look at the WeGo Star train, formerly Music City Star, the only mass transportation offered for Greater Nashville. Here is my review of the hotel.

Hampton Inn & Suites Lebanon – Location

The hotel is located right at the Interstate I-40. The drive time to Nashville is some 30 minutes under normal traffic conditions. The hotel is located at a commercial area, the Lebanon Municipal Airport (private aviation only), which also features an aeronautics school, is nearby. There are also other hotels and some restaurants close to the hotel.

You need to have a car to stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites Lebanon. The hotel is conveniently located to the Interstate, but he key commercial area with large grocery stores as well as Central / Historic Lebanon with the WeGo Star train station is a couple of miles away. Despite the proximity to the highway, the hotel felt rather quiet.

Hampton Inn & Suites Lebanon – Room

I had a two night stay in early August 2022. The flex rate, including all taxes for both nights was 290.92 USD. Overall, the room was really nice and spacious. However, there were some issues. One thing which was strange was the work desk. I do like when they have two tables, a slightly lower one on wheels below a fixed one. However, the upper table was far too high compared to the chair at the desk. In addition, some parts of the room, especially in the bathroom area, felt a bit of run down.

Apart from that some parts were a but of aged, the bathroom was actually quite nice. I was surprised that one of the bars of soap provided was the one typically given in Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn Hotels. My room just had a shower without bathtub, which I felt to be really convenient.

Hampton Inn & Suites Lebanon – Breakfast

The breakfast was overall fine. I did miss bagels, but therefore, the Hampton Inn & Suites had some other nice options. The warm buffet was very nice as well and there were two different kinds of waffle dough.

Hampton Inn & Suites Lebanon – Service

The staff at the hotel was really friendly and helpful. The hotel drives a gym on the ground floor and a small, typical North American style outdoor pool at the rear of the hotel. There is also some lawn, which can, for example, be used to have a small walk with your dog. WiFi worked very well.

Hampton Inn & Suites Lebanon – My View

Compared to Hilton Hotels in the Nashville Airport (BNA) area, the Hampton Inn & Suites saved me some 30 to 50 USD per night. Is it worth it? It prolongs your trip to Nashville by some ten minutes. No real chance to make use of public transport, but overall, this hotel is a reasonable choice. It is really up to you how you weight the longer distance against the price.
