For a Jessica Lynn tour-chasing trip in December 2024, I decided to upgrade my trip with a first row Christmas Spectacular show by the famous Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall. As the show was on a Sunday morning, I needed to have a place, which beats the ridiculous prices, especially around Christmas, on a weekend in and around New York City. I finally decided for the Hampton Inn Carlstadt – At the Meadowlands. Apart from being a Hilton Group hotel (which I generally favor), I opted for the hotel due to its good traffic connections and the fact that I did not have to pay it cash. Here is my review.

Hampton Inn Carlstadt Meadowlands – Location

The hotel is located in Carlstadt, New Jersey, West of Manhattan. The driving distance to Radio City Music Hall is just about 9 miles. The Hampton Inn Carlstadt – At The Meadowlands is just North of the Meadowlands Race Track. Met Life Stadium, home of the two NFL teams, Giants and Jets, would be in walking distance. However, you cannot cross the Paterson Plank Road in front of the hotel as a pedestrian. Apart from the several sports facilities, the hotel is close to the American Dream mall. The mall features multiple attractions, like the Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park or the Dream Wheel NJ observation wheel.

The hotel drives a shuttle to the nearby venues during events. There are not too many services in walking distance. You do need a car. However, another nice feature of the Hampton is that it has complimentary self-parking in the major parking lot.

Hampton Inn Carlstadt Meadowlands- Room

I had one night at the Hampton Inn. The stay from Saturday to Sunday in December 2024 would have been about 500 USD. I should explicitly state that there was no sports or entertainment event in the Meadowlands at that weekend – and that the price was rather competitive during that season. However, I did pay my stay, originally booked in a King Shower Room, with Hilton Honors points. The hotel upgraded me to a corner room, which had a unusual design, but was really large and comfy. You had to walk along the rather long room hallway to get into the spacious sleeping and living area. The room featured a large work desk, an additional sofa, as well as a microwave with fridge.

The shower bathroom was a right turn from the hallway. The design was a typical Hampton one. The bathroom was comparably spacious and fitted well to the nice design of the room. The hotel in general and the room were absolutely clean and well-maintained.

Hampton Inn Carlstadt Meadowlands- Breakfast

I was a bit in a hurry because of the early show in Manhattan (yeah, I drove there…). Thus, there are just a few snaps of the breakfast in the lobby area. The Hampton Inn Carlstad – At The Meadowlands did a very nice performance there as well. I was quite surprised that – despite there was no event – the breakfast area was quite busy on the early Sunday morning.

Hampton Inn Carlstadt Meadowlands – Service

The hotel staff was really lovely and friendly. The welcoming and check-out procedure went very well. I also enjoyed to good WiFi in the hotel. The Hampton is also driving a gym. As I felt quite weak after some traveling, I missed to take some snaps of it.

Hampton Inn Carlstadt Meadowlands- My View

Even if you factor in that you cannot walk to the stadium, the hotel is a nice choice for events. It is also a nice option when you want to go to Manhattan just for the day, even if you just connect to one of the public transport stops around. The good connections, especially to the I-95 / New Jersey Turnpike are a plus, indeed. The downside is definitely the limited services around. If you need to grab a bite, you likely have to take the car to the mall or other nearby places.
