  • Good storytelling
  • Very versatile leading voice
  • Intense atmosphere

This time, my Friday also include an an album, which has in fact already been released. I featured Jetlagged already once in here. In my 21st March 2025 Songs of the Week, the band from Frankfurt, Germany, was in my new song list with Roadtrip. The track is also the title track of their debut EP. It has been released yesterday, on 15th May 2025. Here is my review.

Jetlagged – About The Artists

Jetlagged is a German band, which has in fact been formed in the late 2000’s already. They majorly played as a live band so far and already supported some more well-known acts. Jetlagged’s music is a mixture of folk and indie-pop. Unfortunately, there is no information about the line-up of the band.

Jetlagged – Roadtrip – Track by Track

The six song EP lasts 21 minutes.

1. Roadtrip

The Frankfurt band do it in a traditional way and open their release with the title track. I loved the song when I ran into it the first time in March 2025. It simply has a nice gentle style, the violin and the instruments overall go for a plushy and emotional atmosphere. It’s simply a beauty.

2. My Way

This four minute track is (obviously) not a Frank Sinatra cover, but an original. The song has a similar style as the opener, even though My Way is more energetic and even a bit of rocking. A really nice and good write.

3. The Pond

The Pond has been released in June 2022. Still, it is something like the core track of the EP. It is also the most frequently streamed song by Jetlagged on Spotify so far. Finally, it does not need more than the vocals an an acoustic guitar to define a deep, narrative, also a bit of dark mood. Especially the vocals, which are presented in different styles and even has some circular canon-alike episodes leads to a fascinating listen.

4. Sunrise

Sunrise has a stronger beat than the songs before. Nonetheless, it feels complex and intense and not cheap at all. Again, this song strikes on the vocal side and in storytelling. I really like it.

5. Tree of Life

In the penultimate song, the Frankfurt band takes us to the Tree of Life. The song is about existential questions about life and thus very philosophical. Nonetheless, the song does not feel too heavy loaded and is a really nice listen.

6. The Pond Instrumental

The EP closes with the instrumental version of The Pond. The song feels magical even without its vocal part. Nonetheless, this final melody rather feels like a nice bonus track.

Jetlagged – Roadtrip – My View

Jetlagged took their first major step into the world of music – and they definitely left a mark. You might like the lovely storytelling and smart plots of the track. I am especially fascinated from their vocal work. A really good listen.

Favorite Song: Sunrise
