Flyctory.com Songs Of The Week (week of 8th May 2026)

I somehow managed to slowly get back to regular updates of the website. Unfortunately, I could not travel to Italy for the World Floorball Championships for Under 19 Women – my health situation just does not allow that currently. The more, I had time to dig into new music. A comparably small list this time – but there are some really fine ones. My Songs of the Week starts with two true music legends.

Paul McCartney feat. Ringo Starr – Home To Us

Paul and Ringo are recording a song together – and it does indeed have some nostalgic vibes. I fell in love with Home To Us from the very first moment of listening to the Liverpool guys. The song will be part of Paul McCartneys’s upcoming album The Boys of Dungeon Lane, which will be released on 29th May 2026.

Phil Schaller – Mein Berlin

Home is also the topic of Phil Schaller’s new song. The song is not about the German capital. In fact, he is praising small town life – and calls that “This Dump is my Berlin“. Could be a perfect country song – but it is rather a pop-rock track by the singer-songwriter, who lives in Neuental in the middle between Kassel and Marburg.

Oliver Obermöller – Wo sind die Tage

Nostalgic vibes in this song: Oliver Obermöller is asking Wo sind die Tage (“Where are the Days”) and reminds of teenage days full of dreams and party. A really cool song by the German artist.

Myles Smith – Hold Me In The Dark

Myles Smith lead my Songs of the Week twice already, in the 10th May 2024 and the 23rd August 2024 edition. This week, he was really close to doing it again – but his countrymen Paul and Ringo were just too striking. In June, Myles will finally release his debut album. I expect My Mess, My Heart, My Life being a fantastic listen.

Brockhoff – Front Row

Just about one month until Brockhoff is releasing her debut album Easy Peeler. The German alternative rock/pop musician shared Front Row this week, which is already the fifth single preview of the record.  She will also play a couple of live gigs the next weeks.

Isaac Roux – Young Hearts

After Isaac Roux released his debut album Troubled Waters in 2024, he is taking the next step. The Belgian artist mixes indie, folk and pop elements – and creates a really catching sound. A really fine new release.

Esmar – Spekuleri

I found another really nice one in the release list of the Faroese music label Tutl Records. In Spekuleri, Esmar Palli Fagraberg deals with double and struggle and the search for inner peace. A nice melodic track, somewhere between pop and rock.

Lea x Linda – Zuhause

It’s more than four years ago since I featured the German duo Lea x Linda the last time. In my 4th March 2022 Songs of the Week, I shared their song Signal. This week, the two ladies from the Eifel region released the beautiful, dreaming Zuhause (“At Home”). Home feels to be the topic of this week – and it leads to wonderful listens.

Velvet Lounge Project – Destination

Velvet Lounge Project is a German collaboration of Matthias Wehrstedt and Normen Radzio. Their new song Destination is a lovely Eurodance-disco track. Makes me feel nostalgic, indeed.

Bunch of Ace – Deine Nähe

The German pop-rock teenage twins are back with a new song. Alessja and Alandra released Deine Nähe this week. The song deals with the end of a relationship, in which being close cannot really hide the problems you have. The song will be part of their upcoming EP in German.
