As you might have seen in the other blog entries, I have been attending Europe’s major country music festival, the Country 2 Country in the London O2 arena.
Back home, here are some songs which are still in my mind an I just cannot get rid of them – maybe you like them! All three artist did not play on the main stage, but in one of the intimate venues, by the way – so no stuff from Little Big Town, Sugarland or Faith Hill in here…
Danielle Bradbery: Sway
I first heard Danielle’s music right after she won the US version of “The Voice”. Her song “Young in America” was just amazing to me. In London, I have been gifted to see her twice, once in the major O2 Indigo and once in the very intimate NY-LON bar. “Sway” is not her latest single (which is called “Worth it” – also cool stuff), but I liked this one most – it is also absolutely worth to buy her new album, “I don’t believe we’ve met”:
Walker Hayes: Beautiful
Again, there are two cool songs of the same artist. I slightly prefer this one, “Beautiful” to his latest single, “You broke up with me”. Walker has been amazing live on stage – I have to admit that I liked his acoustic version of this song even more. Nevertheless, also the album edit is an absolute worth listening:
Lukas Nelson: Just outside of Austin
Nelson? Yes, Lukas is really the son of the world famous Willie Nelson – and his father is even part of this music video. Lukas is great in telling stories, I liked a couple of songs of him (e.g. the nice love story “Forget about Georgia”. This one is just a very classic, but wonderfully-told story about life in Texas:
In 2019, I reviewed Nelson’s new Album Turn off the news (Build a Garden).
