Flyctory.com Pros

  • Very personal and intimate album
  • Lovely voice

After I saw Avery Anna at the final day of the Country To Country 2025 in Berlin, she is back on Flyctory.com with her new album. On 16th May 2025, she released her sophomore record, Let Go Letters. Here is my review.

Avery Anna – About The Artist

Avery Anna Rhoten was born on 3rd March 2004 n Flagstaff Arizona. The US American country pop artist started her career on Spotify. Relatively quickly, she established in the country music scene and had or Grand Ole Opry debut in September 2022, at the age of 18. After releasing her EP Mood Swings in the same year, Avery Anna released her debut album Breakup Over Breakfast in July 2024.

Avery Anna – Let Go Letters – Track by Track

The fourteen song album lasts 38 minutes.

1. Love, Avery

The album features multiple voice messages. Love, Avery is a reaction letter to a letter she received. There is nothing but her voice a little backing melody. A very personal letter, which closes with

I hope that these songs bring you peace and understanding
You’ve been writing to me for four years now, so
I guess this is my letter back to you
Love, Avery

and thereby opens the album.

2. Mr. Predictable

Mr. Predictable has been the core of the album promotion campaign. Since February 2025, when the song has been released, it has been streamed over seven million times. The song starts slow gentle, but then gains a lot of energy and anger with the chorus. I guess I don’t have to write more – you know that one anyway.

3. Grave

I trusted you
I trusted you
Still see the brand of your jeans
Your hands were cold as ice
And it still keeps me up at night

Grave comes with a very similar plot. The first stanza is melancholic, even a bit of whiny. However, the chorus is rocking and energetic. Avery Anna defiantly states It’s killin’ me day after day but I won’t take it to my grave in there. The very personal style of the album continues. Avery’s voice feels to be perfectly made for this kind of song.

4. What Are Friends For?

The week before the album release, Avery Anna published What Are Friends For?. The song does not have that angry feeling in the louder parts (obviously), but the contrast between the fragile stanzas and the energetic parts feels massive. While she boggled me with that at the beginning of the album, I am now already used for it.

5. Self Esteem 4 Sale

Not only the howling steel guitar at the beginning adds a stronger country music vibes to Self Esteem 4 Sale. The song feels more harmonic and balanced. Of course, the statement I’ve got self esteem for sale still connects to the messages of the songs before. Avery Anna recorded a really nice modern country music song, which even has some nice rock parts.

6. My Mother Lies (voice memo)

Let Go Letters contains two voice memo track. With 72 seconds, this one is the longer one of them. The track is like a demo recording. There is no full studio version of this song on the record. Thus, My Mother Lies gives more interesting insights than I expected it to be when I read the tracklist for the first time.

7. Skinny

Strawberry shortcake, my twentieth birthday
I’m starin’ at my waist, I’m tapin’ up my legs
I’ve never been thinner, I’ve never been sicker
I wanna feel better, I wanna be thicker

Let Go Honest is a very straight and honest album. Songs like Skinny underline that. The way Avery is sharing her thoughts about herself is impressing.

8. Depresion

Therapy’s turned all your problems to dollars
They’re making a profit off somebody’s daughter
Your father, he never believed in that stuff anyways
He says you’re okay

No, there is no typo in here. Even though the eighth song of the album is in fact about a depressive friend, the is in fact an “s” missing in the title. The style of the album continues with the typical Avery Anna vibes and her characteristic voice. This turns a difficult topic into an enjoyable listen.

9. Giddy Up! (feat. Maggie Antone)

Maggie Antone went the same (nowadays typical way) way as Avery Anna to get into the major music business. The Virginia-based artist collaborates in Giddy Up! with Avery Anna, which finally leads to one of the most interesting listens of the album. Having a second vocalist in here adds a lot of spirit and energy to the track.

10. Cheerios

Most of Avery Anna’s songs have a very typical, characteristic style. Compared to that, Cheerios almost feels like a mainstream country popper. However, Avery Anna’s voice adds a lot special and unique touch. A fine song with a good melody.

11. Danny Don’t

Another single release of Let Go Letters is Danny Don’t. The song is very calm is mostly just driven by Avery Anna and her acoustic guitar. In fact, this song is another very deep even a bit of shocking one. You’re at the end of your rope and you’re sick and tired of being alone. Thanks for sharing moment like these.

12. There’s No You (voice memo)

The second voice memo is There’s No You. This time, the recording is just 47 seconds long. But still, it leaves a mark.

13. Butterfly Project

We are close to the finish line already. Butterfly Project is a very touching and atmospheric song. The vocal performance in this song is really beautiful.

I spend most of my time just praying you’ll win this fight
And I know you know I love you
So, I’ll say it one more time
Just think of me, think of life
Try to see the butterflies

14. Wish You Well

Avery Anny names the issues described on her new album the monster hidin’ underneath my bed. However, the song is a rather optimistic ending of Let Go Letters. In the chorus, she starts with But after everything, I wish you well. I keep my fingers crossed for you.

Avery Anna – Let Go Letters – My View

During her C2C 2025 performance, I simply felt that in that setting Avery Anna just could not perform at her best. Her 2025 album strengthens this thought. Her Let Go Letters record is, honestly, much better than I expected it to be. An extremely straight, intimate album – even though most of the tracks are sad songs, it is catching and absolutely enjoyable.

Favorite Song: Giddy Up!
