Some new songs by King Calaway: More than two years after I had a listen to their album Rivers, the international band is back with four new songs. The short EP is called Midnight and it has been released on 27th August 2021.

King Calaway – About The Artists

Copy of the bio given in the Rivers review:

King Calaway exist since 2018. The six members are Caleb Miller, Chris Deaton, Simon Dumas, Jordan Harvey, Chad Michael Jervis and Austin Luther. While five of the members are raised in the USA, Dumas grew up in Gibraltar and studied in Manchester. In early 2019, they released their self-titled debut EP.

King Calaway – Midnight – Track by Track

The four song EP lasts 13 minutes. None of the songs has been released before the album.

1. Homegrown

Just four songs, but at least the beginning leads to a good feeling: Homegrown starts as a straight country rock song. However, the bridge has very vibeful sounds. Just as King Calaway wanted to increase the summer-party feeling at this song. Good song.

2. More People

We need more People like that – this song definitely is living from an amazing vocal performance and arrangement. Great option to make your fans sing along to your music towards the end of the next King Calaway shows. The lyrics are rather simple – but that just increases the sing-along potential.

3. Heartbreaker

The tempo of the EP stays rather slow. However, Heartbreaker comes with a nice contrast of dark, almost melancholic verses and powerful modern country parts. Nicely plotted song with a lot of airplay potential.

4. Good Time To Me (feat. Lainey Wilson)

Closing this short selection of four tracks with Lainey WIlson definitely feels to a smart move. The song has a nice vibe and quite some energy – and once Lainey Wilson is joining, the feels like the musical afterburner of the song. So much energy on this track, cool.

King Calaway – Midnight – My View

King Calaway definitely created a really good collection of four songs. In contrast to the Ashley Cooke review this weekend, the duration is short, bu tthe pricing absolutely fine. Very different songs, but all have the potential to boost a country party of live concert. Definitely a short, but very good choice!
