After I rolled out the Country Christmas Playlist 2021 in late November that year, I am this time a bit earlier and give you the first holiday tunes. Not sure if you are already ready for the Christmas tree now – but I hope you like it – as some of you did in my last year’s edition.

Flyctory.com Country Christmas Playlist 2022 – What’s In?

Last year, the Christmas releases in country music started very early. I had the first songs in mid September 2021 already. Finally, the playlist was very long and it was hard to really keep all the rules about the composition I thought of, for example that there is just one song per artist. Thus, I slightly adopted the philosophy under which I set up this playlist.

I set up the playlist as follows:

I only deal with 2022 releases. I started to collect Country Christmas tracks in October this year. A 2022 release is either a single release or an album, I will try no ignore deluxe albums, limited editions, special upgrades and all this over-commercial stuff as I generally don’t like to support them. I will, however, include singles of these upgrades (otherwise, Dolly would be out this year)
I try to limit the presence of an artist to one song. If an artist is occurring in a solo recording and a duet or as part of a group, he might pop up several times. I try to aim for the very first single release (this year) or a favorite track of an album or EP.
I tried to prefer originals over Christmas classic covers. Nonetheless, there will be several versions of the same Christmas classic, performed by different artists, this year.
The songs are more or less in chronological order of release. If a Flyctory.com-supported or Featured Artist is releasing a Christmas song, I will push that song to the top of the list.
I did not filter for any matter of my musical taste – this leads to a pretty wide range of tracks. I am still sure I missed some releases. Again, if there are songs which I feel to be absolutely inappropriate and cheesy, I might skip that. Finally, if you feel that I missed “your” song, I might just have missed it. The closer we approach Christmas, the longer the list of Christmas songs will be.
