Jackson Dean is one of the US country music artists, who already built up a strong fan base in Europe as well. For example, I featured his May 2025 headline show in Cologne. Furthermore, I reviewed his 2024 album On The Back Of My Dreams. On 24th April 2026, he is releasing a new album. Here is my review of Magnolia Sage.
Jackson Dean – About The Artist
Jackson Dean is a country music artist. He was born on 6th October 2000 in Odenton, Maryland. Nowadays, he is living in Nashville. He originally was a defensive end at his high school team. His video of singing the US national anthem went viral and paved the route to a professional career. He signed a record deal in 2021. One year later, he released his debut album Greenbroke. Especially the debut single Don’t Come Lookin’ was successful, peaking third in the US Country Airplay Charts and Canadian Country Charts. On the Back of My Dreams is his sophomore album and the most recent record so far.
Jackson Dean – Magnolia Sage – Track by Track
The eleven track album lasts 37 minutes.

1. Blacktop Blues
The Blacktop Blues leads you into the listen of Magnolia Sage. The song is a rhythmic country rocker with a present rhythm. Jackson Dean does his own style, which feels pleasant. I really enjoy listening to his voice and the opener of this album.
2. Make A Liar
One of the five songs Jackson shared before album release is Make A Liar. He shared the song in September 2025. The album focuses on the chorus, but the stanzas create a lot of atmosphere as well. I like the contrast between howling guitars, the slightly dark feeling of the stanzas, and the very melodic chorus. A typical Jackson Dean song, fans will (still) love it when they have a listen to Magnolia Sage.
3. Be Your Man
Be Your Man has in fact been the first song Jackson Dean shared from this album. The song has been published in May 2025 already. The strong groove turned it to a great listen for summer country music nights. Just as the temperatures are rising again, you still enjoy getting caught by the vibes. Some listeners might also dream while Jackson states ‘Cause all I wanna do is be your man.
4. 5th Of July
There are likely many US-American songs about Independence Day. However, Jackson Dean is reflecting about the day thereafter in this song. The song continues presenting the typical, slightly dark style of Jackson Dean songs. A very enjoyable song with good storytelling.
5. Tennessee Moon
Tennessee Moon slows down the speed of Magnolia Sage. The intense groove of the song makes it tend towards. Overall, the song has a very emotional touch. Guitars, banjo, the organ, and lovely work on the rhythmic side – the song is one of the best of the album from an instrumental and melodic perspective.
6. Over And Over
Over And Over starts with rather traditional country sound and a present rhythm. However, the chorus turns the song into significantly more modern style listen. Over and over, I wanna feel you next to me, Jackson states in the chorus. The beautiful will definitely touch your heart.
7. Hey Mississippi
The March 2026 single release Hey Mississippi has been the last song warming up fans for the album. The song might feel a bit of hidden at first sight, but the song has a beautiful melodic flow, which leads to a very enjoyable listen.
8. Something Easy
After a mild start, Something Easy strikes with the chorus latest. The song is driven by the sheer vocal energy of the artist. You just have to listen to him, you just have to follow the story. This song truly underlines why Jackson Dean is a really special country music artist.
9. Wildfire
Wildfire is another song which is already known to Jackson Dean fans. The song is a really nice Americana rocker which strikes with a good speed and a lovely flow. Its style diverts sufficiently from album to add a nice touch to the listen.
10. Dust On A Dirt Road
Dust On A Dirt Road comes with a nice leverage and composition of vocal and instrumental parts. This even leads to a more intense atmosphere. The song introduces a nice touch to the album, I like the slowly marching style and the instrumental work on the guitar side.
11. Heart On The Range
The closing song of Magnolia Sage is Heart On The Range. The song feels especially deep and personal, but also quite melancholic. Jackson Dean shared ten intense stories on this record – and he kept one of the most intense ones for last.
Jackson Dean – Magnolia Sage – Spotify
I will add the Spotify widget once the album has been published.
Jackson Dean – Magnolia Sage – My View
Fans will love Magnolia Sage. Jackson Dean delivers his own style, tells good stories and catches with intense listens over the eleven songs. This is not a Nashville mainstream record, but that’s exactly what it turns into a special and enjoyable listen. I really like it.
