After some searching and looking for reviews in different sources, I finally opted for the One Farrer Hotel for my late April / May 2019 stay in Singapore. As it was the first time for me in the small state, it felt quite challenging for me to find a suitable spot. Finally, I felt to take a good decision. Here is a review of the hotel.
One Farrer Hotel – Location
One Farrer Hotel is located right at the Farrer Park metro station, on the Northern edge of little India. The five star accommodation is quite new.
One Farrer Hotel – The Room
My original booking was a three night stay in a King Room, which was priced with 600 SGD (roughly 400 EUR). The room category was booked out, so I have been upgraded to a very spacious Suite at the end of the 14th floor with a nice view over the surroundings. It was a real suite with a separate living room. There was even a guest toilet facility. The room was marvelous, very spacious, I absolutely loved it. Both rooms had a large TV set. The room came with a coffee machine, a water kettle including complimentary TWG tea as well as a free mini bar, which was refilled with three cans of soft drinks every day. In addition, water was provided as well.
The bathroom featured a large shower and all necessary amenities. It took some time to have hot water, but apart from that, the bathroom was really comfortable. The toilets feature a bidet functionality. There were sufficient power plugs in the room, most of them with international plugs so that you do not need any converter. You could adjust the light to different settings and blinds and shades could be moved automatically.
One Farrer Hotel – Breakfast & Food
As it took me some time to accommodate with the climate, I just had breakfast in the hotel once. Breakfast was not included in the rate, and costed 30 SGD pre-tax. The selection of food was amazing, starting from English/American breakfast items to Indian curries, local dishes and Japanese food. I absolutely loved it. There were also sufficient items on the healthy selection. The breakfast staff was very attentive as well.
The restaurant is 24 hours. There is of course in-room dining. You may also dine at the “Sunset Bar” located close to the pool. I did not have any dining in the hotel apart from the breakfast.
One Farrer Hotel – Services
On the sixth floor, the One Farrer Hotel offers a lovely located Olympic size pool. “Olympic size” means the pool is 50 meters long, absolutely amazing! I had a morning swim on my first morning at the hotel and enjoyed being there on my own. Pool times are 7:00 to 22:00hrs. There is also a smaller pool on the executive levels.
The gyms are 24 hours. One gym is located close to the pool, the other one on the 19th floor, reserved for the executive guests. The main gym looked very well equipped.
WiFi in the hotel was quick and reliable. The house keeping was amazing, they did a very precise job – definitely one of the best service experiences I ever had.
One Farrer Hotel – My View
One Farrer Hotel is an excellent choice in the city. The location is not very central, but well located and right next to the metro (which can be really helpful if you want to have a date and don’t want to be sweaty). The service is excellent. I loved the breakfast, nice experience. The pool area is very nice as well – finally, there is nothing I would really criticize. Thus, the One Farrer Hotel in Singapore is definitely a Top Pick.
