Flyctory.com Pros

  • Nice range of songs
  • Straight songwriting
  • Characteristic vocals

In 2018, Avec had her biggest hi t so far. Until now, Still has been streamed roughly 24 million times on Spotify only. The Austrian artist is already having a total of 150 million streams on this platform only. On 14th July 2023, she added a new EP to her discography. I had a listen to I Feel Alone These Days.

Avec – About The Artist

Avec ist the artist name of the Austrian pop artist Miriam Hufnagl, who is originally from Vocklabrück. Born in 1995, she grew popularity in the mid 2010’s in her home country. Avec is naming Taylor Swift being one of her key idols, who also inspired her learning to play the guitar. Her debut album What If We Never Forget has been released in 2016 and had a short appearance in the Austrian charts. Since then, there have been two more long plays, Heaven / Hell (2018) and Homesick (2020). The latter peaked 13th in the Austrian charts. I Feel Alone These Days is Avec’s second EP, after the 2015 Heartbeats.

Avec – I Feel Alone These Days – Track by Track

The six song EP lasts 21 minutes.

1. I Feel Alone These Days

Despite the duration of 3:16 minutes, I Feel Alone These Days rather feels like an intro to the EP than an ordinary song. The key reason is that Avec is doing just some narration on the vocal side. A very intense and dramatic way to start the EP, indeed.

2. Mirror

After listening to the introducing title track of the EP, Mirror feels like a light-hearted pop track. Avec’s voice is much higher, keyboard chords and drumming are the key melodic elements of the song at the beginning. However, the guitar is having increasing presence in the melodic recording later as well. Nice modern pop song, which stays in your mind.

3. Nothing To Me

Nothing To Me has already been published in April 2022. The song is a straight, nice modern pop track. here is a slight Taylor feel in this track.

Go on, try to break meTry to cut down deepI feel nothing ’cause you’re nothing to meGo on, try to shake meTry to cut down deepI feel nothing ’cause you’re nothing to meYou mean nothing to me no more

4. Walls

Out of the three single releases so far, the June 2023 one, Walls, is my favorite. The song has a really nice vibe and is blending indie-pop with folk music elements. And I’m sorry that I couldn’t dive in deep water, while we’re still building, building up these walls. Nice song with some summer feelings.

5. Look Around

Avec is presenting a nice range of songs in I Feel Alone These Days. Look Around is a pop-rock song, which is having rather rather quiet moments, just in order to literally explode in power for the chorus. Very good arrangement, nice listen..

6. Ghosts

The Austrian is closing her sophomore EP with the song Ghosts. The beginning of the song reminds of the narrative style of the opening track. Ghosts, however, then turns into a more melodic experience. Especially towards the end, the song is a really intense one.
