After my last weekend was full of concert coverages, this weekend will feature some sports again (not sure yet whether it will be one or two matches, though…). My Songs of the Week are lead by a German rock lady this time. Hope you like my song selection.

 

My Song of the Week:

Lorena – Run

Born in Nuremberg, living in Hamburg nowadays – I featured Lorena and her music a couple of times already. Typically, her songs are quite rocking – Run has a nice pop touch as well, though. This week, the German artist is leading my Songs of the Week – just about half a year after she released her most recent album Rebel Soul.

 

Other Great Songs this Week:

Dirty Honey – Lights Out

The US-American hard rockers Dirty Honey have been founded in 2017 in Los Angeles. They are currently taking the first steps until the release of Catch Me Butterfly. Their third studio album overall will be released on 15th January 2027. This impression of it sounds like a lot of fun.

 

Doro – Rock You 2 Death

Even though she just joined the host for two songs and an additional one of the encore, I really loved Doro’s appearance at the Dirkschneider concert in Wuppertal on 10th September. This week, the Düsseldorf-born Queen of Metal releases the powerful Rock You 2 Death – I love it!

 

U.D.O. – I’ll Die Trying

It’s not only Doro, who is sharing new music this week. U.D.O. (Udo Dirkschneider) is still having a few Balls To The Wall anniversary shows, right before the Wuppertal artist is going for his next one: on 6th April 2027, he will celebrate his 75th birthday. Some three months before, on 8th January 2027, he will release a new U.D.O. album, Voodoo Ranger. On Friday, he released the first song of the record, I’ll Die Trying.

 

Architects – Machine

My Songs of the Week typically include a wide range of genres. The Architects from Brighton do metalcore. This year, the band around Samuel David Carter had their 22nd band anniversary. However, only drummer Dan Searle is an active founding member. I really like the sound of their new single Machine.

 

Vanja Sky – Side by Side

Vanja Sky is a rock musician from Croatia. In 2027, she will release her new album Make It Better. Her this week’s release Side by Side is a first teaser. Nice rock power and an easy to grasp chorus lead to a very enjoyable listen.

 

Bunch of Ace – Raketenwissenschaft

Alessja and Alandra are releasing another song. Their new one Raketenwissenschaft (“Rocket Science”) is a really nice pop-rock track with German lyrics. The song is about writing music without the use of artificial intelligence. A strong message by the 17 year old twins.

 

NESS & Montez – Stille Kämpfe

Ness (Vanessa Marlen Dulhofer) is a 2004-born singer-songwriter from Austria. In 2021, she competed in the TV talent show Starmania in her own country. Her grandmother applied for her participation without telling her. She ended up third. For Stille Kämpfe (“Silent Fights”), she collaborates with German rapper Montez

 

Chanin – Monsters

Chanin is a German-Peruvian artist, who grew up in Kaiserslautern, Germany. His characteristic voice already lead to some successful songs. For example, his 2023 single Soulmate has been streamed almost 24 million times – on Spotify only. This week, he reflects about Monsters in his head – and does another really catching one.

 

Thera – Heartless Romance

I don’t feature music from Czechia in here so often. The more I am happy that I ran into this modern pop track by the 19 year old. With Guardian Angel, she already had a song which has been streamed over one million times.

 

Freya Skye – Bad Taste

Freya Skye became popular, when she played Nova in the 4th part of Disney’s Zombies. As such, she also had a major North American tour with the Disney Descendants/Zombies Worlds Collide Tour in 2025. This week, she released the really catching pop track Bad Taste.

 

Norvin – Du nimmst dich immer mit

Norvin is the artist name of Hamburg author, composer and producer Markus Norwin Rummel. He also worked with major schlager artists like Matthias Reim or Roland Kaiser. This week, he released the beautiful schlager-pop ballad Du nimmst dich immer mit (“You always take yourself with you”).

 

Clara Louise – Golden Hour Forever

The Austrian artist Clara Louise is working towards Lonely Sailor. Her new EP will be released on 13th November 2026. This week she shared the beautiful singer-songwriter track Golden Hour Forever. A really nice one.
