Since my childhood years, music is the most important thing in my life, states Emanuel Winkler. The German is the head behind the project Cave To Comos, which is releasing its debut EP on 1st December 2023. I had the opportunity to listen to the tracks before the release already.
Cave To Cosmos – About The Artist
As said, Cave To Cosmos is the solo project by Emanuel Winker. The small town Extertal born Winkler is a multi-instrumentalist and played in several bands already. Since a few years, he is developoing music under this project name.

The four track EP lasts 16 minutes.
1. In Deepest Nights
Sometimes on gloomy days,
Oh, I feel lost in so many ways.
I look for some kind of friendly face,
Oh, it seems I fell from grace.
The EP starts with In Deepest Nights, which comes with a very detailed work on the rhythmic elements. In general, Winkler uses multiple layers of sounds, which create a very wide, intense alternative pop sound. His dark voice increases the very massive listening experience.
2. Moonlight
Is it Halloween again? Moonlight opens with the howling of a wolf. The song as such is less scary, though and develops to a nice and friendly pop track. This evening scene is more friendly than one could actually expect at the beginning.
3. Young Submariner
The debut set of music by Cave To Cosmos always comes with a thoughtful, pondering character as well. Young Submariner comes with louder, a bit of dream-ish parts as well as very quiet moment, where a few sounds and instruments break the silence.
Though I’m awake, I’m a cosmos away
And I try to connect everything along the way

4. Lament
After rather rich listens with a wider instrumentation, the closings ong Lament surprises by solely concentrating on the piano and Winkler’s voice. The song has a very emotional, almost romantic, but also dark character. Towards the end of the song, you can feel the struggle of the storyteller in a short crescendo.

I am typically rather shy to present you four track EPs. However, especially towards the end of year, where you are loaded with Best of compilations and Christmas albums with the same songs as last year, Truth Waits In Deepest Nights is a more than welcome alternative. The EP is a very wisely produces set of four songs – I like it!
