Flyctory.com Songs Of The Week (week of 2nd October 2026)

I am already counting down the days to my last trip to the United States this year. On 10th October 2026, I will head to Chicago and join the last stages of the Weird Al Yankovic Bigger & Weirder Tour 2026 in Peoria, IL, later that week. Until that, there are some cool sports and concert events ahead – and I hope you enjoy my second last Songs of the Week before heading West.

My Song of the Week:

Benjamin Rajani – Upp ur nalvanum

Not only because he wrote and released one of my Songs of my Life, the handball anthem A Sigursferd, Benjamin Rajani is my favorite artist from the Faroe Islands. This week, he released a new one. The title translates to “Up from the navel”. It is a feature track of his upcoming album Onkustadni er ein vidarlund (“Somewhere there is a wood”), which will be released on 6th November 2026.

Other Great Songs this Week:

Mighty Oaks – Go For Broke

In two weeks, the Mighty Oaks are releasing their new EP. Go For Broke is the title track of it. Maybe I manage to have a listen – the folk band from Berlin around Ian Hooper will be on tour from mid-November 2026.

Christian Theiner – Balsam

Here and there, Christian Theiner is popping up on Flyctory.com. For example, the singer-songwriter from South Tyrolia, Italy, lead my 2nd May 2025 Songs of the Week with his song Vivere. This week, is is dealing with the rhythm of life – a track which stays in your mind.

Palaye Royale – Lost in Translation

A new song from Las Vegas: the rock band Palaye Royale has been founded in 2008 already. From 2008 to 2011, they released under the band name Kropp Circle, before they changed to the nowadays name. For 2027, they have already announecd their album Amsterdamage.

Jennifer Rostock – Hände

While Jennifer Rostock sounds like a solo artist, it is in fact a punk rock band, which has been founded on the Baltic Sea island Usedom. Nowadays, lead singer Jennifer West and her band are based in Berlin. Three of the band members are still active – apart from West, there these are keyboarder Johannes Joe Walter  and drummer Christopher Baku Chriz Kohl. Their this week’s song release is named “Hands”.

The Haunt – Until I Die

A song which slipped into this week’s post last minute is Until I Die by The Haunt. The US American rock band from Fort Lauderdale in Florida is active since 2015. Currently, they just work as a duo, singer Anastasia Grace Haunt and her brother Maxamillion. In the 2020’s, they so far released four EPs and an album.

Van de Forst – You Never Can Tell – C’est La Vie

The lovely Van de Forst is going for a tribute track this week. Chuck Berry’s song in her very own version. I really love this rock’n’roll style track with a touch of country music.

Siri Neel – West Street

West Street is the second single release of Siri Neel’s upcoming EP I Think I Said Something. In this song, the Danish singer-songwriter reflects about her Brighton years, where she studied songwriting. I like the groovy pop-rock style of the track.

Leony – Way Too Late

Will I make it to her 2027 tour (tour dates in my Tour Date Overview)? I really like quite a bit of the songs of the pop singer-songwriter Leony, who is originally from Bavaria in Southern Germany. Her Way Too Late is a straight, catching dance pop track. Nice one!

Rosa Linn – Music I Love

Rosa Linn got international attention when she represented her home country Armenia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022. Despite just finishing 20th there, her song Snap was a massive success and even got a platinum record in the United States. This week, she shares the fine pop song Music I Love. After just having released one EP so far, she is currently working towards releasing her debut album.

Sonia Liebing & Bernhard Brink – Du kannst es immer noch

I just had to add this schlager duet to my new song radar as well. My home town Cologne’s artist Sonia Liebing is one of my favorites in the genre. This week, she collaborates with schlager icon Bernhard Brink. Fun fact: he had his first national TV appearance in 1972, 17 years before Liebing had been born.

Holly Humberstone – Too Cute To Be Lonely

My last major review by Holly Humberstone I reviewed has been the 2024 EP Work In Progress. I really like the music by the British pop singer-songwriter. After her 2026 album release Cruel World, she is releasing a new new song again. She states being Too Cute To Be Lonely. Judge yourself – on the song as well as on the statement.

Lea Santee – The View

Lea Santee is an Austrian electronic pop duo. Singer-songwriter Lea Stöger and producer Manuell Hosp are based in Vienna. They are active since 2013 and released two EPs, Venice and Venice II, so far. Their new song The View is their first song release since 2019.

Lily Ozz – Star Crossed

Lily Ozz is an Austrian artist, who was born in Vienna, and nowadays lives in Linz. She had her first single release last year. I really like her style and the nice and characteristic voice.

Darian – Mitten im Sturm

Mitten im Sturm is a lovely ballad, which is somewhere in between schlager and pop. Unfortunately, I don’t have any substantial bio about this artist – apart from Mitten im Sturm (“In the middle of the storm”) is his debut single. Bad luck that I cannot introduce him better to you – the song is really nice.

Benjamin Steer – Everything Is Right Where It Needs To Be

Benjamin Steer has been one of the artists of the opening day of the 2025 Sound of Nashville Open Air. The British-US-American singer-songwriter will kick off his Outrageously Confused Internally Optimistic tour in Bristol in mid October 2026. I am sure his fans will celebrate him on stage – he is having quite a strong fan base on social media.

Abbasonur Jogvan a Toppaflotu – Hugsa taer at vera so heppin at kunna fara i heitt brusubad hvonn dag

I just had to include this song by Faroese artist Abbasonur Jogvan a Toppaflotu (whose name in real life is much easier, Terji Krossteig). If you feel that Benjamin Steer’s song title is a long one – don’t mess with Terji – he is singing about “Imagine being lucky enough to be able to take a hot shower every day”. That’s more words in the title than at an entire average Vengaboys track in the 1990’s.
