Lena Stone is already quite well-known to insiders of the Nashville country music scene. After a good debut EP in 2018, the New England girl released her second extended play: Princess has been released on 24th April 2020. Let’s see if she can be country pop queen soon!
Lena Stone – About The Artist
Lena Stone grew up in Carlisle, a Northwestern suburb of Boston, in Massachusetts. At the age of 18, she moved to Nashville. One of her involvement in the local music scene there is that she was one of the key drivers of the Song Suffragettes shows and established this concert series, which “let’s the girls play”. In 2018, she released her self-titled debut EP. Princess is her second EP release.
Lena Stone – Princess – Track By Track
The five track EP lasts 15 minuts
1. Kids These Days
The EP starts with Kids These Days, which strongly reminds of other Lena Stone stone: happy-feeling pop songs with a lot of country in it – especially the chorus feels like the perfect melody to hit the Interstate. Her voice reminds me a bit of Kelsea Ballerini, by the way.
2. Hotel
Hotel features stronger guitar play and thus touches more the country rock than the country pop genre. The track has a lot of power, absolutely love to listen to it.
Take it to the hotel, roll up at the Westin
Bellboys checking us out while we check in
Glass elevator to the penthouse
Start emptying that minibar fridge out
We’ll trade in these clothes for white fluffy robes
Like queens of a king sized bed
It’s just for one night but hey that’s alright
Leave your baggage at home and let’s take it to the hotel
3. Personal Space
The third track of the album was one of the songs which have been released before the album. This song has a bit of a Taylor Swift touch to me: a bit of teenage-like, cheeky, Personal Space just let’s you smile and feel good – so it does a good job.
4. Out of My Hands
The soft and romantic side of country (pop) life: if you need a tune for a snuggle, Out Of My Hands is definitely a lovely choice. Absolutely enjoy this one.
5. Princess
The EP concludes with the title track, which is a popish track with some typical elements and a nice focus on vocals and lyrics. Nice song to start thinking about the summer!

Lena Stone – Princess – My View
That’s a nice one! The pinkish EP has a lot of girl power in it – five nice tracks which are definitely worth listening too if you are not too traditionalist and love pop elements in country music. On top of that, all five songs have a very individual character. Great showcase of Lena Stone – hope to have more music of her soon!
