Flyctory.com Songs Of The Week (week of 13th June 2025)

Returning from my Six US States and Nashville trip, having a business event in Munich this weekend and heading to Las Vegas for Weird Al Yankovic next weekend – I am quite busy nowadays. But I have a fun time and listen to fun new music. This time, my Songs of the Week are headed by a rock track. However, there is – again – a really nice range of songs. Enjoy the new episode of my weekly post.

Unfortunately, as I had to remove some of the songs of my original list (simply because they have been released way before this week originally), the list is again rather short this time.

Mono Inc. – Lost In Pain

Not only due to the review of their 2023 album Ravenblack, the German dark rock band Mono Inc. is a frequent guest on Flyctory.com. The Hamburg combo is already counting down the days until their new album Darkness will finally be released. Musical appetizers like their new single Lost In Pain sound very promising.

Royal Republic – Venus

I am typically very shy in sharing cover songs in this category – but I simply love that one too much. Shocking Blue released it in 1969, Bananarama turned it to their biggest hit in 1986 – and now Royal Republic do their very own version. The Swedish rock’n’roll band will share three more disco classics in the near future. I look forward to it – and their music videos are great fun as well.

Biffy Clyro – A Little Love

The last Biffy Clyro album is dated as of 2021. After their 2022 single A Hunger in Your Hunt, still a spin-off of the album, the Scottish rockers have not been active in regards of their discography. This week, they gave a small comeback with A Little Love. They will also play a couple of major festivals this year.

Laura Nahr – Bla Bla Bla

Laura Nahr is a German artist from Magdeburg, who is nowadays living in London. She is about to release her EP Missed Connection in July 2025. The cheeky pop-rock track Bla Bla Bla made me smile – and her appear for the very first time in my Songs of the Week.

Ian Hooper – 2AM Rockstars

Mighty Oaks member Ian Hooper released a new song this week. The US-American artist is nowadays settled in Berlin and already spoke German in childhood years. Her father worked as a professor for German studies in the United States. A really cool pop song with happy folk vibes.

Loi – Get Lucky

I really look forward to Loi’s tour in 2026 (see my Tour Date Overview). This week, the Mannheim artist released the rhythmic summer style song Get Lucky. Hope she is getting lucky with it – I definitely like it!

Kings Elliot – The Promise

This week, I close my Songs of the Week with The Promise by Kings Elliot. The Swiss artist, whose civil name is Anja, peaked fifth in the domestic charts with her sophomore EP I’m Not Always Sad, Sometimes I’m Angry, released in 2024. On 26th September 2025, she will release her debut album Born Blue.
