Women WFCQ – P7 Match – Hungary – France 4-2 (0-1, 2-0, 2-1)

On Saturday, 1st February 2025, the Europe 2 Qualification to the Women’s World Floorball Championships came to an end. While the parallel tournament in Latvia closed with the group matches, there were still placement matches in Italy. The first match of the day saw the match between France and Hungary, who both finished last in their groups. It was a decent opportunity for both matches to finish the days in Lignano with pleasing memories.

This posting comes with a section of 397 major size pictures in a dedicated event section of the sports galleries

Hungary – France – Match Facts

Hungary started very active. Throughout the whole match, you however just cannot state that they were not too effective on the offensive side, which lead to 29 saves by Justine Dellanegra. The Hungarian goalie, Karolina Babusa, just came with nine saves throughout the match. The French team felt more effective, especially at the beginning of the match. Chloe Vuagniaux gave her team the lead, which finally also has been the score after 20 minutes.

In the second period, the very active Nora Lelovics gave hope to her team, when she tied the score in the 23rd minute. Hungary more and more took control of the match. Right after Petra Magyar came back from the penalty bench, Eniko Nanasi’s snipe into the corner of the French goal lead to the first lead for her team (33rd).

The match became more and more dramatic. Even though the Hungarian National Team felt being closer to raise the score, France became better in the final period. However, with four minutes left on the clock, Krisztina Medica raised the lead to 3-1. Vuagniaux’s second goal some 40 seconds later, already without goalie, could not change that. The final score of this Place 7 match was by Nora Lelovics, who easily hit the empty net from a central position.
