Country Music Picks (New Songs) October 2024

My new way of presenting my Country Music Picks, i.e. having a focus on new songs, which I just did not make it on the website differently, takes its fourth round already. Here are the four weeks ending on a Friday in October 2024. There is quite a nice range of songs and artists again – hope you like it!

New Songs of the Week of 4th October 2024

In the first week of October 2024, I opted for the following new releases.

Jenna Davis – Luckier

Artist, social media person, actor – this combination of skills pops up more and more in the US-American music market. It also applies to Jenna Davis, who is followed by some two million people on Instagram only. On 4th October 2024, she released her new single Luckier.

Bryce Vine x Kylie Morgan – Something That You’re Not

I really love Kylie Morgan and her music. In the first week of October, she released this song as a guest artist for Bryce Vine. Really nice collaboration.

Aaron Watson – Buy the World A Round

Aaron Watson is a Texas country artist from Amarillo. In 2015, his album The Underdog lead the US-American country charts. Buy the World A Round might not connect to that, but it si a cool listen.

Hayden Coffman – Hate the Beer

The stomping Hate the Beer feels like the another one of these country music stereotypical ones, which I write so much about. However, Hayden Coffman’s release is definitely fun!

Ella Langley – Weren’t For The Wind

Ella Langley is more and more frequently featured on Flyctory.com. I did not manage to review her August 2024 album Hungover, though. Her biggest song so far was you look like you love me alongside Riley Green, which has been streamed over 100 million times on Spotify only. In early October, she released this fine track.

Brady Riley – Boy From Chambers County

The extravagant Brady Riley released the song Boy From Chambers County that week. The LGBTQ+ artist shared a very emotional and personal song – I really enjoyed the listen.

Demps – Rough Cut Diamond

Demps is the artist name of Katie Dempsey. The 1993-born artist is already having quite a significant fan base. Her new country pop release underlines the reason for that.

Callista Clark – I Believed Him

With her 21 years of age, Callista Clark still feels like a young and upcoming artist – but in fact, she is looking back to quite a music career already. Would be cool to have a successor of her 2022 debut Real To Me: The Way I Feel soon.

New Songs of the Week of 11th October 2024

Here are the songs of the second week of October 2024.

Chris Lane – If I Die Before You

Chris Lane already had nine platinum records in the United States. The North Carolina-origin artist released the very personal If I Die Before You on 11th October 2024. A really nice one.

Madeline Merlo – Bar Fight

Bar Fight is my pick from Madeline Merlo’s new EPOne House Down (From the Girl Next Door). Another rather personal and intimate listen I went for that week.

Adam Doleac – About Gone

Adam Doleac is active since 2015. In 2022, he released his debut album Barstool Whiskey Wonderland. This slow, acoustic guitar-driven song is another beautiful listen in his discography.

Meghan Patrick ft. Caitlyn Smith – Stoned Alone

The next song of that week in my Country Music Picks is this Canadian-US-American collaboration. The song with its special groove was my selection from Meghan Patrick’s album release Golden Child.

Tim McGraw – People Like Us

A new song by Tim McGraw should typically make it to my Country Music Playlists. However, there were quite a lot of really good peers that week, so that it ended up in this post. Nonetheless, the song is a really good one.

Wynn Williams – A Woman Can Do That to a Man

The last song I picked from that week is A Woman Can Do That to a Man. How could I not like an artist like Wynn Williams, who is having a pilot license? Furthermore, this 1990’s style country ballad is simply a lovely listen.

New Songs of the Week of 18th October 2024

Here are the songs of the week of 18th October.

Ashley Ryan – Better Than Leavin’

172k followers on Instagram – Ashley Ryan has established quite a fan base with her music and internet appearance. On 18th October 2024, he shared her new song Better Than Leavin’. A traditional style song with a modern touch.

Gareth – Fingerprints

Changing Seasons is already the second EP released by Gareth in 2024. The British country singer has a nice touch of folk music in his style. I especially liked his song Fingerprints.

Styles ft. Craig Morgan – Gods Grocery Store

Hunting is a typical topic in country music songs. Styles calls it Gods Grocery Store and is supported by Craig Morgan. Doors open twenty four seven, You can always come back for more. ‘Round here we all thank heaven for gods grocery store. Interesting way to look at it.

Tiera Kennedy – I’d Look Good In That Truck

The Tiera Show on Apple Music made Tiera Kennedy famous. The Alabama artist released her album Rooted – and I went for this gentle and rhythmic track.

Breland – What You’ve Been Through

Another EP release of 18th October 2024 is Breland’s Project 2024. I still love looking back to his appearance at the Heart To Heart event in Dusseldorf in 2023. Bad luck that there does not seem to be a follow-up. I picked this one of his new release.

Spencer Hatcher – Cold Beer and Common Sense

Spencer Hatcher does country music with a touch of bluegrass. This leads to a very nice blending with a traditional touch. I really liked his new release.

Morgan Wallen – Love Somebody

Despite rather ridiculous pricing, Morgan Wallen’s Sand In My Boots festival in 2025 sold out within hours. So there seems to be even more reason to celebrate him than “just” this new release.

Ward Thomas – Miles Don’t Matter

The British country ladies Ward Thomas shared another new song with their fans. Miles Don’t Matter is a typical, but really nice Ward Thomas track.

Wyatt Flores – Welcome To The Plains

Te last song I share of this week is Wyatt Flores’ Welcome To The Plains. The song is also the title track of his debut album released on that day.

New Songs of the Week of 25th October 2024

Last, but not least – here is quite a long list of songs released on 25th October 2024 or before.

Hannah McFarland – Hey Highway

The fourth week of October picks start rather gently with Hannah MacFarland’s Hey Highway. A very personal track by the Tennessee country music lady, who has some 180k followers on TikTok.

Paul Cauthen – Bet on Me

Whenever I think of Paul Cauthen, I think of his amazing Country as Fuck. On 25th October 2024, however, Cauthen released his new album Black on Black. I went for the opener of thealbum.

Willie Nelson – Lost Cause

Do I need to say anything about this legend? Willie Nelson is still keeping on doing music – and he is doing it in a great way. That week, he released Lost Cause.

Jessie James Decker – The Girls In My Hometown

Jessie James Decker tells about The Girls In My Hometown. The country pop singer is followed by more than four million people on Instagram. Fun fact: she was in fact born in Italy, with her mother located at an US air base. Part of her fame is, however, that she was part of Dancing with the Stars and had an own reality show on TV.

Willow Avalon – Country Never Leaves

Willow Avalon’s Country Never Leaves is a rather traditional track. I liked the fine melodic style of the track. Hope you enjoy it too.

Jason B. Gentle – Rollin’ With The Wind

Jason B. Gentle is a German country artist from Hamburg. His music is inspired by the 1970’S country music sound. A drew quite a lot of attention with the release party of his previous song, Save Me, which was quite a celebrity party at Germany’s only Hooters restaurant in his home town

Ryan Hurd – This Party Sucks

Don’t we all know that feeling – That Party Sucks? Ryan Hurd made a song of it – and it is hilarious. I really enjoyed the listen – and felt a bit sorry for Ryan that he had to stand that experience.

William Beckmann – Borderline Crazy

Willoam Beckman is from Del Rio in Texas, a small border town to Mexico. He is singing in English as well as in Spanish. His latest release is in English, though.

Zach John King – Hole In The Wall

The last song I feature as of October 2024 is Hole In The Wall by Zach John King. The song by the Georgia-origin artist is a typical modern country music track. He also leans towards indie-rock. Good one1

Title picture: Bryce Vine x Kylie Morgan – Something That You’re Not
