I really look forward to cover Chelsea Berman at the Rock Meets Country festival in Switzerland in September 2025 (see my summer festival preview). I will be the first tim I see the Australian country and pop artist live on stage. Before that, Chelsea shared a new six track EP on 4th July 2025. In line with a single release, it is named Like Me Better.

Chelsea Berman – About The Artist

Chelsea Berman is an Australian artist, who is originally from New South Wales. She started in country music, but more and more developed towards pop. So far, Chelsea released two EPs, Better Than Ever (2018) and Can You Just Not (2021). In September 2024, I featured her in an episode of my Spotlight interviews.

Chelsea Berman – Like Me Better – Track by Track

The six track EP lasts 20 minutes.

1. Twenty Something

The EP kicks off with the pop-ish mid-tempo Twenty Something. The song comes with nice energy in the chorus, which is driving the track.

2. Hurt Like This?

Hurt Like This? reminds of Chelsea Berman’s country music roots. The song is majorly driven by the Australian’s voice and her guitar. Some more instrumental elements are used later in the song as well. The song spreads a very personal and intimate feeling. I enjoy calming down and listening to it.

3. Sober Now

Like Me Better is a half-and-half release. Half of the songs have been featured as single, the other half is new. Sober Now has been Chelsea’s single release in early February 2025. Again, the chorus is the heartbeat of the track. It turns the song into a really great listen.

4. Did You Try?

Did You Try? is the last new song on Like Me Better. At the beginning, the song features nothing but Berman’s voice and the piano. Later there are guitar chords as well, but this does not spoil the very direct and personal signature of the listen.

5. Crush

In her most recent single release, Chelsea stated I got a crush. The lyrics (She looks so pretty, sitting right next to me) as well the music video clearly states that this song is about a girl. Love can be so beautiful. I love her for sharing these happy feelings with the listeners.

You got her in the palm of your hand
I bet she’s making plans, white dress and wedding band
But she don’t understand that if I had the chance
I’d get lost in her touch, show her what it means to love
Can’t make this up, I got a crush, oh
I got a, I got a, I got a crush

6. Like Me Better

Last but not least, there is the title track. The song has been the key topic of the interview I had with Chelsea in September 2024. I loved the song when it got released – and I still absolutely enjoy the modern pop style of this one.

Chelsea Berman – Like Me Better – My View

When it comes to Chelsea, I just cannot be fully neutral. I love this Australian artist and her beautiful music. The single releases are indeed the backbone of this EP. Nonetheless, especially Twenty Something does stay in your mind as well. And I love the little country music touch, which is still in her music. Chelsea Berman made me smile again with her Like Me Better EP.

Favorite Song: Twenty Something
