Weird Al Yankovic (My June 2026 Shows)

I already shared impressions of Weird Al Yankovic’s 31st May 2026 show in Alpharetta GA in a dedicated post. However, my May and June 2026 trip to the Southeast of the United States featured three more stages of the Bigger & Weirder Tour 2026. I felt that I put this one in a dedicated posting, coming with some short notes about my show experience. Likely, you will especially enjoy the full gallery of pictures from these events. The posting is also a bit of a trip report – the shows are comparably similar, so that I don’t bother you with details. Hope you enjoy that kind of post, which is a bit different than my typical concert formats.

This posting comes with 819 major size pictures as part of the concert gallery. The pictures have been taken with amateur point and shoot equipment and thus do not match the typical Flyctory.com picture quality.

Weird Al Yankovic (31st May 2026, Alpharetta GA)

Bell Auditorium (Augusta GA) – 2nd June 2026

O decided to stay in Savannah already and go forth and back for the Bell Auditorium show. Augusta in Georgia is to me a city with a lot of historic potential, but not reaching it at all. Bell Auditorium is a comparably intimate venue on the tour, so that I really enjoyed the atmosphere. There were also quite a lot of fans from the domestic community. Thus, it was really fun to hang out before and after the show.

I had a fifth row seat in the aisle, rather on the right side of the venue. Finally, this was an excellent choice. The first three rows did not have any aisles, apart from those on the sides,. With the fourth row, there were two additional ones in the middle. Thus, I had a great view, especially of bassist Stephen Jay. On the way back, I forgot to connect my phone to the GPS, so that I had to take some comparably narrow streets through the South Carolina forest. I saw over one hundred deer next to and on the road. As I also had some chats with the band members after the show, I was quite exhausted when I arrived back at the Hampton Inn Savannah I-95 North at about 2:30 in the morning.

Enmarket Arena (Savannah GA) – 3rd June 2026

Already staying in Savannah in Georgia gave me the opportunity to relax in the morning (which was urgently needed). I originally planned to explore more of the interesting city, but I finally rather decided to relax and just had a drive through some of the spots after I visited two museums in town (which were both more on the disappointing side). I also had to be at Enmarket Arena rather early. For that day, I did not only have the Meet & Greet with Al, but also a backstage tour before the show. Despite large parking spaces and a garage, parking was quite a nightmare, but I could finally sort it out. Kamal did an amazing job – I might share some impressions after the tour has concluded in October 2026. The venue was not sold out.

I had a central seat in first row, which was an absolute treat. I really loved the show and also ran into some friends again. The VIP group for the Meet & Greet was comparably small. Thus, I was back at the hotel rather early. This was not too bad. The band had an off day the next day. While they are taken to the next venue overnight, I had a six hour (net time) drive ahead the next day. I also took a diversion to Charleston SC, where one of my best friends was born. An amazing spot.

First Horizon Coliseum (Greensboro NC) – 5th June 2026

Already when I arrived at the Hampton Inn Greensboro-Airport the evening before, I felt really weak. I had started the trip with having to same some remains of antibiotics. Despite I plan these trip much more in detail, all the driving was quite exhausting to me. I had spent more or less the whole day laying down in bed, trying to recover somehow. Even during afternoon, I was not sure whether I could really make it. I had to start a reserve package of antibiotics and still did not feel really fit for the show, when I headed to First Horizon Coliseum. The arena is located in a sports complex in Greensboro. The rather old venue (capacity: 22,000 – however, they did not use the upper ranks) felt a bit of weird, because you first have to get up to an upper level to get into the venue. Like two shows before, some changes at Ticketmaster lead to trouble getting into the arena, but I could sort it out.

I decided to sit down early and just relax before the show. Before that, I had a first bite of the day – don’t go for the pizza when you visit this place…. Finally, Puddles Pity Party (I will share his appearances during this trip separately – check out my Alpharetta post) and Al boosted me. I also have to admit that once you see the passion and energy of Al and his band, you just have to feel better. The more, I was sitting first row again, right opposite of Stephen and I enjoyed that we had some eye contact during the show and enjoyed watching each other. For my first time in 2026, I got to enjoy the Paul Simon cover You can call me Al (the cover song rotates through the different shows), which I absolutely loved. There were some technical issues before/with Ebay, which they had to restart thrice, including a short polka intermission. Thanks for this exclusive additional entertainment 🙂

Going Home the Next Day

No chance to catch up with the guys after the show in venues like these. Thus, I finally left Greensboro with a mixture of love for the four concerts I had so far, sadness that it will take me a month to see them again, and physical exhaustion (the next days in Germany were really hard – despite a Lufthansa Business Class flight back home the next day…).
