Alina Sebastian (5th April 2025, Hamm)

Going to Hamm in the Northern German Ruhrgebiet on 5th April 2025 felt like closing a major gap on Flyctory.com to me. The German country / countrypop artist Alina Sebastian had one stage of her See You Soon tour on that evening. I just never made it before to feature one of her shows or a major release. Thus, I was really flattered to see her on stage at the Hoppe Garden.

This posting comes with 309 major size pictures as part of the concert gallery.

Hoppe Garden – About The Venue

The Hoppe Garden is a music club and bar (with a snack menu) in the Southern part of Hamm. The indoor area (with a surprisingly large stage) has a capacity of slightly over 200 people (the show was not sold out). In summer, they also have open air concerts. The venue is beautifully located next to a park. There is no direct public transport connection. The walking distance to Hamm Main Station, which is connected by regional and national high speed rail, is about two kilometers. There is sufficient capacity for street parking and a parking lot.

Alina Sebastian – About The Artist

Alina Sebastian, located in Osnabrück, is a German female country artist. She is independent and also plays the guitar and the bass. Sebastian already won the German Pop and Rock Award five times. The first gigs with her band were in 2019. In 2023, she released the album Eyes of the Highway.

Alina Sebastian – The Show

The show started right in time at 20:30 (initially, it was announced for 20:00) and lasted roughly 1:50 hrs. The first songs were Miles of Memories and What you WantAlina Sebastian connected to the people, shared stories around their songs, like stating that the third one, Never fall in love, is her very personal love song. The beginning of the show rather featured some more quiet moments, while the evening became more and more energetic.

While Alina was joined by her band most of the time, she also had a solo acoustic set, starting with Keep driving. She explained the story of that one as well. While typically doing the booking and management on her own, she was booked for a tour by an agent. Overall, that tour was arranged poorly and one day, she ended up at a closed and obviously run down venue. She just had to leave and wrote this song in her car, parking at a side road. Summer Rain was one of the most magical moments of that evening. She performed the song as a duet with her guitarist David Tarakona. The last song of the set was I Cry from her Eyes of the Highway album, after which Alina left the stage with a bright and happy smile. Of course, there was also an encore. At See You Soon, she encouraged the audience to sing along with her.

Alina Sebastian – My View

Alina Sebastian underlined that she is one of the most complete and promising modern country artists in Germany. You felt her experience on stage, being very present and connecting to the audience during her show. Her songs were very relatable with personal stories, spreading country vibes over the very charming venue. I felt that this one has been a really excellent evening – hope to see her more often and on major stages soon.
