Country Music Picks (New Songs) April 2025

April 2025 is in the books. Another month full of new country release is done. The whole month came with quite a bunch of intense experiences for me. Hope you enjoy my country song selection of the month.

New Songs of the Week of 4th April 2025

I started a new job that week. Quite a lot to do there so I was not too unhappy about this week did not feature too many songs I just had to go for.  I selected quite a lot of female country artists that time

Hailey Whitters – High In The Hog

My April song picks start with bluegrass vibes – and Hailey Whitters. Right at the beginning of the month, she released her new song High In The Hog – and makes me move to her special vibes. I really liked this one.

Shayna Gee – If I Could

Some more traditional vibes come from Shayne Gee that week as well. The artist from California released If I Could in the first week of April 2025. Her second appearance in my Country Music Picks overall.

Emilia Quinn – Does She Know

Emilia Quinn is a British country musician. I still remember her energetic 2020 EP Firecracker very well. Her April 2025 song Does She Know comes with rather gentle vibes. Nice one.

Lauren Watkins – Lose My Control

Lauren Watkins has Nashville blood in her veins. She is in fact born and raised in Music City. That week, she released her new song Lose My Control. I really like the gentle vibes of it.

Lainey Wilson – Bell Bottoms Up

It feels that there is no week without a Lainey Wilson release. In early April, the female country star released Bell Bottoms Up. Apart from the normal recording, there is also a live version recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London.

Colbie Caillat feat. Russell Dickerson – If You Love Me Let Me Go

While Russell Dickerson has been present on Flyctory.com very frequently, I just had one review of Colbie Caillat so far. In 2020, she released the album Canyons as part of the quartet Gone West. Soon thereafter, the band split up. This duet of the two successful artists is a lovely listen, though.

Cody Jinks – Snake Bit

Right before I featured Cody Jinks as one of the guest musicians on Mark Morton’s album Without The Pain, he released a solo track. Snake Bit is a beautiful country music listen, with a slightly dark rock vibe. It simply works out perfectly.

Niko Moon – I Love This Beach

Niko Moon and his song I Love This Beach barely missed my Country Music Playlists that week. Some country pop summer vibes to close my first week of April.

New Songs of the Week of 11th April 2025

Wow, the long list of country song releases of that week was huge. I finally had to select from more than thirty tracks which I believed were “worth listening”. Apart from the ones running into my main playlist, I condensed it to eleven tracks. Enjoy!

Colby Lee Swift – Plano Boy

Colby Lee Swift’s Plano Boy is a treat for rather traditional country music listeners. After his Country Music Picks debut in March 2025, he is doing it again in April 2025. Great one.

TOKUNBO – First Country

Folk noir, country, jazz – there are a lot of different influences in the music of TOKUNBO. A lovely track by the GermanNigerian artist, who has been the singer of the acoustic soul band Tok Tok Tok before.

Trousdale – Don’t Tell Me

The all-female country-pop trio released their new album Growing Pains on 11th April 2025. I did not make it to have a review, but I picked this song to be shared with you.

Willie Nelson – Banks Of The Old Bandera

Oh Willie – how can one not love this guy? He is still is regularly releasing music – like this new song of his. Later in April, he released his 77th studio album.

Sophia Scott – Either Way

I still remember Sophia Scott’s performance at the Holler Stage on the 2025 C2C in Berlin very well. What a great artist and storyteller. In the second week of April 2025, she released the deep and intense song Either Way. Beautiful listen.

Ben Fuller feat. Carrie Underwood – If It Was Up To Me

The Christian music singer songwriter is collaborating with one of the greatest female country music artists. That shows the popularity of Ben Fuller. Their 11th April 2025 release If It Was Up To Me is a really nice listen.

Trevor Snider – Thinking and Driving

I have never featured the music of Trevor Snider on this website before. Thinking and Driving is the title track of his debut EP he released that week. However, the two previous single releases, Take My Word For It and Running Wild have been quite successful one for Snider, who is touring with Chase Matthew in 2025.

Brandon Davis – Jumped Right In

Jumped Right In is the title track of Brandon Davis’ new album. I really enjoyed a quick listen, but rather went for another review – also because it had more new sonst. Still, a nice one.

Alee – I Would’ve Stayed

It’s quite a while ago since I featured Alee’s 2021 album Feels Like This. I still enjoy any time I run into her music – like this new track.

Dillon Carmichael – No Matter How Hard I Try

Even though Dillon Carmichael pops up in my playlists rather frequently, I just featured one major release from the Kentucky-origin so far. His Hot Beer EP has been released in May 2021, though. A really nice and powerful song.

Carter Faith – Grudge

About a year ago, in March 2024, I saw Carter Faith live on stage, supporting Restless Road and Redferrin in Frankfurt. That week, she released the snappy song Grudge. A traditional sound, which still feels rather modern.

New Songs of the Week of 18th April 2025

After a rather intense time in my new job, I had some opportunity to relax and explore London again. Here are my song picks of the Easter weekend week.

Pitney Meyer, Mo Pitney, & Johnny Meyer – Walk In The Way

Traditional country with bluegrass vibes – the trio Meyer, Meyer and Pitney released the album Cherokee Pioneer on 18th April 2025. I could not make it for a review, but went for this song in my Country Music Picks.

Jesse Daniel feat. Charles Wesley Godwin – Time Well Spent For A Man

For this calm, rather traditional song, Jesse Daniel collaborated with Charles Wesley Godwin. Another proof that traditional country music can still feel modern and like a great listen.

Tyler Braden – Right On Track

Tyler Braden is Right On Track. The song is the opener and title track of his 2025 album, which he released on 18th April 2025. The country rock song made it straight into my song selection.

Lily Meola – Welcome Home

Former America’s Got Talent winner Lily Meola released the beautifully melodic Welcome Home that week. It comes with a lovely flowing melody. Really like its sound.

Austin Jenckes – Higher Hopes

I was so happy to run into Austin Jenckes during the C2C 2025 in Berlin. After I featured concerts of him in May 2023 and in September 2019, it would be cool to have him on tour again soon. In the Easter week 2025, he released Higher Hopes.

Tami Neilson feat. JD McPherson – You’re Gonna Fall

Tamara Tami Neilson was born in Toronto, but is in fact a New Zealand artist. She released You’re Gonna Fall together with JD McPherson who was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The song has a nice dark Western song vibe.

Drew Green – Undefeated

Drew Green is a country singer-songwriter, who is a Tennessee native. He already wrote songs for acts like Florida Georgia Line. Undefeated is part of his EP release Comin’ In Country released that week. It’s his fourth EP release overall.

Danny Anderson – Last Call

Another song pick of that week is Last Call by Danny Anderson. It is just his third song release overall. However, with his 2024 debut single Don’t close the door, he already drew quite some attention – and has more than two million Spotify streams so far.

Kristina Murray – The After Midnight Special

A song which really closely missed being nominate for my Country Music Playlists is The After Midnight Special. Born and raised in Atlanta, Kristina Murray is now part of the Nashville country music scene. Love this one.

New Songs of the Week of 25th April 2025

I had quite an intense time that week, ending up with the Swedish Floorball Finals in Stockholm. Similar to my Songs of the Week of that week, there was quite a lot going on in country music. Here is my song selection.

Kassi Ashton – When I’m Gone

The Kassi Ashton news of that week was definitely her marriage with Jeffrey Travis Myatt. Congrats! Her week ended (hopefully) with a honeymoon and the release of the upgraded version of her Made From The Dirt album. Here is one of the few new songs.

The Castellows – Sheltered

The vocal harmonies of The Castellows form another beautiful song of the female country trio. Their new song Sheltered is another nice listen by the ladies.

Alina Sebastian – Adventure in your Eyes

My country music April 2025 began with Alina Sebastian’s show in Hamm – and closed with her new song Adventure in your Eyes. A really nice and gentle track by the lovely German artist. She will also be playing at the ADAC International Truck Grand Prix at the Nürburgring, which I featured in my festival preview of the summer of 2025.

Tucker Wetmore – Bad Habit

That week, Tucker Wetmore released his album What Not To. 19 songs, eleven of which are unreleased. I did not have the capacity to review the album, but chose this song for my April 2025 post.

Buck Twenty – Last Night’s Blue Jeans

A new song release I absolutely liked at first listen is Last Night’s Blue Jeans. Unfortunately, there were eight songs I rather preferred more. Still, one of my favorites of the week.

Collin Nash – Bar off the Interstate

Collin Nash released his debut album in the last week of April 2025. The Missouri artist introduces himself in a very friendly and polite way. It is called Hello, I’m Collin Nash. I went for the opening track.

Taj Mahal & Keb’ Mo’ – My Darling My Dear

Taj Mahal and Keb’ Mo’ are about to release their album Room On The Porch in later May 2025. While both artists are rather known for their excellent blues vibes, this feature single has quite some country music touch – and thus made its way into this posting.

Telander feat. Kaitlin Butts – Cerulean Skies

Telander is one of the many great artists emerging from the Austin country music scene. He is releasing music since 2023 and already published two albums. That week, he released this lovely duet with Kaitlin Butts. Nice listen!

Jenny Teator – Roll with the Punches

Roll with the Punches is the first time I am featuring US artist Jenny Teator. However, her debut single Surrender is dated as of 2019. So it was urgently time to fill this gap. How could I do better than with a nice song like this country rocker with a cool groove.

Clayton Mullen – Love on the Radio

My April 2025 coverage of new songs closes with Clayton Mullen. He has already been on my Country Music Playlist – and songs like Love on the Radio suggest that he will be back there soon. He will also have a CMA Fest 2025 appearance on Friday of the festival.

Country Music Picks – The Playlist

I will also present the new songs of a month in a new, dedicated playlist. The playlist will be completely flushed and reset with the next Country Music Picks posting.
