After having visited the Novotel Suites Mall of the Emirates on my last Dubai visit in May, I went for the closeby Novotel Dubai Al Barsha for my early November visit in the Emirates. Also because I booked a Junior Suite, I expected an even better experience this time.

  

  

  

  

  

Novotel Dubai Al Barsha – Location

The Al Barsha outlet of Novotel is located in the South of Dubai, right at the Sheikh Zayed Road. Thus, it is an easy connection to all of the city. The Sharaf DG Metro Station is in close proximity, Al Barsha also offer some supermarkets, restaurants and shops. Especially if you are heading towards the Southern Dubai attractions like the Ibn Battuta Mall or the Dubai Parks, the location is quite ideal. Southbound, you do not pass any more Salik toll bridge on the way to Abu Dhabi. Compared to the quite closeby Novotel Suites Mall of the Emirates, where I stayed in, I felt it is the better spot for Accor Hotel lovers. The closer you get to the mall, the more jam-prone is the traffic situation.

The hotel offers valet parking, which is free for hotel guests.

Novotel Dubai Al Barsha – Room

To due my recently acquired Accor status, I have been upgraded from a Junior Suite to an Executive Suite. The original room price was roughly 150 EUR / night. So regarding the spacious suite I got now with a large living area and an as spacious sleeping room, this definitely was a bargain. I liked the design of the room, the bathroom with separate shower was cool and equipped with all necessary amenities. The mini bar was for free and has been refilled. Quite common in the U.A.E., you also had a couple of complimentary water bottles in the room.

  

  

  

  

  

  

There were some technical details I did not like too much in my room. First of all, the door keycard reader had lost its cover. On the second picture, you see that also one of the TV sets was mounted with quite an angle on the wall.

  

Therefore, the view from the room was spectacular. From my room, I could overlook the lively Sheikh Zayed Road and even Atlantis the Palm. From other points in the hotel, you could watch Burj Al Arab, for example.

  

Novotel Dubai Al Barsha – Breakfast / Restaurants

One of the things I generally love about Dubai hotels is the breakfast. Even in comparably basic spots, you typically enjoy a lovely mixture of European-American and Asian breakfast favorites. I love Arabian bread, Indian breakfast curries as well as ready-made omelettes. Novotel Al Barsha got them all. However, I sometimes felt that the quality was more basic than I expected. In peak times, the staff struggled to keep the breakfast service organized. Sounds more harsh than it is meant maybe – the overall breakfast experience was absolutely nice and gave a great selection.

  

  

There is also a nice bar in the lobby area. In addition, the hotel offers a 24 hour coffee shop.

 

Novotel Dubai Al Barsha – Services

Of course, the hotel offers an (outdoor) pool experience. I felt the area is quite nice when I visited it in the morning. Not sure how crowded it will be during daytimes. I took the pictures right before I went to breakfast – and though there was nobody around, several sunloungers were already “reserved” with towels. Hate that. Next to the pool, there is also a “Kids Club” to entertain the younger ones. In the same area, there is also a very nice gym area. Unfortunately, it has been too crowded to take some pictures there as well.

 

 

  

Novotel Dubai Al Barsha – My View

Staying at the Novotel Dubai Al Barsha may not give you a top notch experience, but you will have pretty good time there definitely. I loved the location, the suite has been amazing of course. The technical housekeeping details confused me and there was also some potential in the breakfast service. As the pricing for the hotel is very reasonable, it is definitely a option worth considering when you want to have a Dubai city trip or explore the U.A.E.
