Flyctory.com Pros

  • Convenient location
  • Views of Burj Khalifa and Downtown Dubai
  • Reasonable price

Flyctory.com Cons

  • Glass walk too crowded
  • Not that special and impressing as other Dubai observation platforms

It is very hard to keep track of all the new attractions which pop up in Dubai. A place, which hasn’t been too much on my radar is the Sky Views Observatory, close to Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa. On up to 219.5 meters above the ground, it is one of many observation decks and platforms in the U.A.E. city. In later 2024, I had a visit at the November 2021-opened attraction. Here is my review.

Sky Views Observatory – Location & Admission

SkyViews Observatory is located on the 52nd and 53rd floor of the Address Sky View Hotel. The hotel is located quite close to the Burj Khalifa / Dubai Mall metro station and has its entrance right next to the station. This also means that it is a some ten minutes walkway away from Dubai Mall. Dubai Metro is definitely the easiest way to get there, apart from using the car park of the hotel. The observation deck is thus rather close to other Downtown Dubai attractions, like the Dubai Fountain or the Dubai Opera. It is also right next to Skeikh Zayed Road.

The observation deck is opening daily from 10:00 to 22:00. The last admission is one hour before closing. Dawn and night times, when the deck is also offering views of the fountain shows, are the peak visiting times. The ordinary visit is 80 AED including all fees, roughly 21 EUR. There are also additional experience like he Edge Walk or the Glass Slide (see below).

Sky Views Observatory – The Visit

Visiting the observatory is very focused on the observation deck itself. There are no major exhibitions or side attractions around the visit. After passing the airport style security, you head along a corridor to the elevators, which bring you to the upper floor of Sky Views Observatory. The glass elevator facing Sheikh Zayed Road is already leading to some nice views, including Coca Cola Arena and surroundings. The observation deck itself are two levels connected by a staircase. You can also use a glass slide from the 53rd down to the 52nd level. However, I did not meet the physical requirements (weight) for that.

The key view you have from the top of the Address Hotel is definitely Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall. You do have a view all around the area. However, you have to say that due to the typical atmospheric situation, you will not be able to spot Old Town Dubai or the attractions around (there is one picture which also shows the Raffles Hotel below, having a really poor view). With the camera angle, it is, however, not possible to spot the top of Burj Khalifa, which is just too much higher.

A key attraction is the U-shaped glass walk. The glass floor part of the observation deck is extremely popular. Even though there were rather few people during my visit, it already felt bothering having so many people sitting and lying on the floor there for a good Instagram shot, though.

Sky Views Observatory – Services

For some 500 ARD, you can do the Edge Walk, where you can enjoy a secured stroll outside. I am sure the views are magnificient. The lower level of the observation deck also features a US diner style restaurant. There are also packages including a meal or afternoon tea in the hotel. Back on reception level, Sky Views Observatory also drives a rather characteristic souvenir store. The staff was very friendly during my visit. WiFi is available during your visit.

Sky Views Observatory – My View

The view of the Dubai Mall area is nice and the pricing of Sky Views Observatory is very reasonable. I also liked the location close to the Dubai Metro. The place is a good observation deck, but if you don’t want to have some nice shots of Burj Khalifa, you might have to to the place. In that area, I definitely rather recommend the High Tea at At.mosphere Burj Khalifa.
