The Minus 5 Ice Bar in Las Vegas is likely one of those places I would not have visited without Groupon discounts and other discount codes. I was definitely curious to visit one of those places during my travels, but also felt like having other priorities. During my brief Weird Al Yankovic trip to Nevada in June 2025, there was the right deal at the right time. Here is my review of the Minus 5 Ice Bar at the LINQ Promenade in Las Vegas.

Minus 5 Ice Bar LINQ Promenade – Location & Admission

Minus 5 Ice Bar has three outlets in Las Vegas. One is at the Mandalay Bay, another one in the premises of The Venetian. I visited the one at the LINQ, which is surprisingly close to the Venetian location. It is located at the open air boulevard between the Flamingo and the Horseshoe Casino. Thus, the ice bar is rather close to the Strip on the West of the attraction and the Las Vegas Monorail on the East.

The ice bar is open daily from 11:00 to midnight. On Fridays and Sundays, it is closing at 2:00 in the morning. There are multiple packages available. The basic admission, which is solely giving you (unlimited time) entry into the ice bar and protective clothing) is 24 USD, pre-tax. The 49 USD Coolest Experience Package additionally including two free cocktails only gives a rather small discount. The 79 USD VIP packages gives you a faux-fure coat, a picture and a souvenir. All prices are as of 2025, pre-tax.

Minus 5 Ice Bar LINQ Promenade – The Visit

Right after passing the admission desk, you receive your parka and gloves. Then you enter the ice bar room. Even though it of 40 Celsius outside temperature, I was quite surprised that I did not feel that the chilled room itself did not feel that cold. The room is quite large and has a reported capacity of 300 people. With some 100 people in the room, it did feel quite cozy. The light in the ice bar is regularly changing the colors of the lights, which leads to a nice atmosphere.

As you see in the pictures, the place is not just a rectangular room and thus does have a rather cozy atmosphere. There is quite some decoration on the wall, as well as some ice sculptures in the room, which also lead to an interesting experience exploring the place. Some of the structures are rather hard to take pictures of, though. There are also tables and benches made out of ice, so that you can easily hang out in the Minus 5 Ice Bar with your party for a while. The benches feature fur, so that you do not directly sit on the ice (which might also melt from your body heat.

… and then there is of course… The Bar

Finally, the Minus 5 Ice Bar is a bar. I was really curious about the prices there – which I finally found being quite reasonable. It is not the place to sip the most fancy drinks of your life, but a mocktail is around 8 USD, a cocktail less than 15 USD (both pre-tax and tip, obviously…). This was still less than I expected. The glasses are made of ice, so that there is also no additional ice in your drink. They are smaller than you would have them at a “normal” bar, though, so that it is hard to estimate, how expansive the ice bar is in fact, (e.g. comparing the same volume of drinks). There are coasters everywhere. These are very important – because you slightly melt the ice of the glass with your body temperature, it may freeze again once you put it on one of the ice tables.

Minus 5 Ice Bar LINQ Promenade – Service

The staff was very friendly, my visit was well-organized. The waiting time for your drinks was absolutely reasonable. In case you have bulky items like backpacks with you, you can store those at the reception desk before entering the bar.

Minus 5 Ice Bar LINQ Promenade – My View

I am maybe not the target customer of places like ice bars. Thus, I did not expect that much, when I visited the Minus 5 Ice Bar at the LINQ Promenade in Las Vegas. The more, they surprised me. Overall, especially on a very hot summer day, it is actually quite a lot of fun. The ice bar is well organized, it is not as chilly as you might imagine and the service is fine. Even the drink prices are not a total rip-off. I you just go there to see it, though, the admission might be too high. I really liked the place.
