After I already introduced you to the Carlsberg Aviator Lounge in Copenhagen (CPH), I had the opportunity visiting its sister lounge right across: In December, I had a look at the Avaiator Apartment Lounge at the same airport. Here is my lounge review.
Aviator Apartment Copenhagen (CPH) – Location & Access
The lounge is located one level above the ordinary passenger traffic, close to the A and B gates. You typically take the elevator up to lounge level. Alternatively, you may also use stairs at the rear of the lounges, which I did not spot on my previous visit.
Overall, the access to the Aviator Apartment Lounge are similar to the Carlsberg Lounge. Some airlines limit access to the apartment-style lounge to higher tiers. The lounge also accepts some lounge passes and buy-ins. I visited the lounge for a fee of 249 DKK.
Aviator Apartment Copenhagen (CPH) – Atmosphere
While the Carlsberg Lounge is indeed following a rather rustic and traditional style, the Apartment Lounge (which is less frequented) nicely works with the apartment topic. There are a lot of cozy seats, there is even an artificial fireplace. A minor area a few steps down allows to view parts of the gate and waiting area. This one features a couple of sofas. However, around the buffet, there are also some more restaurant / bistro-alike seats. Overall, the atmosphere in the Aviator Apartment Lounge is really nice – it also feels being less crowded than the lounge next door (they share one reception desk).
Aviator Apartment Copenhagen (CPH) – Food & Drink
Nutrition just does nit seem to be the core discipline of Copenhagen lounge. The Apartment Lounge is definitely better in that regard, compared to the Carlsberg one. There was quite a nice selection of cold and salads available. Apart from a soup, the lounge offered red cabbage with veal meatballs as a warm dish as well. It also had a nice selection of different kinds of cheese, which I also liked a lot. Refilling the food buffet was a bit on the slower side, but overall, that service was fine.
The selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks has on the basic side. However, as the two adjacent lounges are driven together, there is as well the nice range of Carlsberg brews from the tap, so that beer fans will love it.
Aviator Apartment Copenhagen (CPH) – Services
The staff at the reception has been very nice. I used the Copenhagen Airport WiFi (my devices connect to it anyway…), which worked very well. The lounge has shared bathroom facilities with the Carlsberg Aviator Lounge. As I said in that review already, the capacities feel too small and you have to wait for the loo, despite I haven’t been at the lounge in peak times.
Aviator Apartment Copenhagen (CPH) – My View
If you compare the Carlsberg Aviator Lounge with the Aviator Apartment, the latter is the definite winner at Copenhagen Airport (CPH). The Apartment Lounge comes with a nice style. It is relaxing, you like to hang out there – even though some of the services are rather basic or limited. I liked it.
