A blessing in disguise: My wife and I were scheduled to fly back home with Icelandair from Nashville (BNA) in April 2026. However, Keflavik Airport (KEF) was closed due to weather and thus the Icelandic airline had to rebook us. We flew a day later and were very happy that we were rebooked on a combined connection of American Airlines and Delta Air Lines. Business Class with Delta from New York (JFK) to Frankfurt (FRA) meant that we were flying Delta One – and that gave us an unexpected view into one of their finest lounges, the Delta One Lounge at JFK Airport. In line with their operation, the lounge is located in Terminal 4 of the largest airport in New York City. Here is my review.

Delta One Lounge New York JFK – Location & Access

In fact, the Delta One experience already starts before you enter the secured / airside area. For their premium travel class, Delta offers a dedicated, exclusive check-in area. After crossing the dedicated security lines (or doing the Global Entry lines in my case), you are more or less already at the lounge reception. The closest gates are B18 and B20. On the gates level, there is solely the reception desk and a hallway (which is already quite atmospheric) leading to the elevators to the lounge itself on the fourth floor. The lounge serves both concourses, A and B.

The lounge is opening daily, from 4:30 to 23:00. However, the Brasserie is only operating between 11:00 and 21:30. Despite access is quite restricted, the lounge was quite packed during our visit. You need to have an international Delta One ticket to be allowed into the lounge. From 2027 onward, this excludes passengers travelers in Basic Business. Alternatively, you are either a Delta 360 member of fly first or business class with one of Delta’s SkyTeam partners from JFK. Namely, these are Air France & KLM, LATAM, Korean Air, and Virgin Atlantic. Other status or subscription-based entry passengers need to use the Sky Clubs. There is no companion policy (i.e. you cannot bring a friend), unless this person is eligable by ticket or you are a Delta 360 status holder.

Delta One Lounge New York JFK – Atmosphere

The first impression of the Delta One Lounge: it is huge. There is a capacity of over 500 passengers in total, split into different sections. We sat at a wintergarden-alike place overlooking the airport. The lounge also offers a bistro/restaurant alike seating, where the buffet is located. The lounge feels impressing and large – and even though there was a very limited number of seats available, you felt a good level of comfort. Due to the high number of passengers in the lounge, I unfortunately just could take a few snaps.

Delta One Lounge New York JFK – Eat & Drink

The Delta One Lounge New York (JFK) also impresses on the food and beverage side. The first thing which stroke us was that there was a drink menu at each table. Drinks were served at the table. Explicitly, this includes alcoholic drinks, long drinks and cocktails. However, if you want to dig into the most exclusive options available, you have to pay for them.

In regards of food, there is a smaller buffet which reminds of Sky Club lounges. The heart of the food offerings is a market-style buffet, where you can pick from a wide range of options. The buffet is serviced, so that staff behind the desk is assisting you with the food. The buffet is really long and split into different kinds of food. Alternatively, there is the restaurant-style Brasserie, which we did not try during our visit. You can order food from the menu there.

Delta One Lounge New York JFK – Services

Also in regards of services, the Delta’s premier lounge in New York City is top notch. There are eight shower cabin suites, a relaxation room with massage seats and other amenities, which make you relax during your travel. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Complimentary WiFi is provided, obviously.

Delta One Lounge New York JFK – My View

Wow, the Delta One Lounge at JFK’s Terminal 4 is impressing. All US carriers felt to have put more focus on pampering their top notch customers in recent times, but I would see Delta slightly ahead of their peers. In fact, the lounge was even close to Lufthansa’s First Class Terminal in Frankfurt (FRA) to me. I absolutely loved having that experience.
